Just to say that Air Comet is the second biggest longhaul airline in Spain, and with plans to extend their network to inland Spain, Europe and Asia to be second biggest in all aspects.
Air Pullmantur bellongs to Royal Caribbean but it´s managed by Marsans which is also a shareholder.
Marsans Group if one of the biggest tourist operator in Spain which owns everything. The main objective of the this order is………….
-Replace ageing Aerolineas Argentinas specially longhaul B747-200
-Boost Air Comet stupendous growth in South America
-Send the A380 to Air Pullmantur.
Why to Air Pullmantur?. Well, it´s an airline just destinated to feed Pullmantur Cruises. Their key for success is low cost, high service all inclusive cruises “spanish style” (tapas, fiesta, drinks….music) to the market. Their growth is great and that´s why Royal Caribbean (second biggest cruise company in the world) has just puchased it.
They operated two ageing B747-200 (ex Air France and Lufthansa) and a B747-300 ex varig. They couldn´t cope with all the passengers to fill all the ships in summer and hardly in winter in the Caribbean with a small vessels. Big Royal Caribbean ships are being transfered from march 2008, so fleet is urgent.
As far as know, they will incorporate two B747-400 as long as the A380 is not available. Probably the only airline in the world just for cruisers.
I am so impressed. I flew the day before on another Dash8 from SAS, from Turku to Copenhague. Does anyone know if it was the Banke Viking?.
It was a nice an smooth flight, but landing in CPH was a bit rough, on one side of the undercarriage. I am just imagining what was the scene inside in the time of the crash.
yes….too slow in answering. Thanks BX737.
I was really impressed with Aer Lingus last april. Lovely airline, and really groove livery. They were so happy with the SCQ flights that they are resuming the service again in march and definite now. Great news for us.
Only a discontinuation from Oct-march. It seems thats the normal procedure for all new destinations
Thanks a lot. Has anyone flown with them?
Thanks, I would say one. The birdstrike is not Air Baltic fault. Anyway other option was Ryanair. I wonder why I feel safer with Ryanair. Funny isn´t it?
I think it is clear to say that easyJet made a ‘fuss’ because they didn’t want to be aquaplaning around the airport and risk the lives of hundreds.
easyJet don’t make a fuss about operating into Bristol in the wet! They DID however make a fuss about operating when there were NO groves cut into the runway surface – The runway at Congonhas also has NO groves cut into the runway surface – I can certainly see the similarity.
You can’t take any chances with safety, and easyJet put their aircraft, crew & passengers safety & well being before anything else. It is because of this move that there probably wasn’t a horrific event at Bristol as what happened in Brazil.
Adam
PS – The above comments on easyJet & Bristol Aiport have nothing to do with the fact that i live in Bristol 🙂
yes Adam. Safety is first and important and support Easyjet decission in the case of Bristol, but I know what´s going on in LCG over here, and I still don´t know why Easyjet is not so concerned when the situation is a perfect copy of Congohnas.
I expect something wrong happens, but this is time bomb and at the end something wrong will happen.
My sympathies for the Brazilian people and condolences for the victims and family. We don´t have to go to Brazil. Spain has got 47 airports some of them not properly equiped and which should have never been opened.
Let´s go to the closest I live. LCG LA Coruña. Regional-marginal one opened because the local mayor was a friend of the local ministry of transport. Operating even A321 in a 1940 m runway (funny the sane lengh). Two big gravines at the end of both runways, and surounded by houses and developments. Rains a lot over here, and there´s always strong winds which causes constant deviations. The orography is not nice.
Easyjet operates there to MAD and I wonder why they make so much fuss about operating in wet Bristol runway. Needless to say, that the local authorities allocate Easyjet for landing there.
I suppose there are lots of closest examples close where we live.
If you want information about non UK airports here I go of SCQ
-Aer Lingus: DUB (2 weekly)
-Vueling: Paris-CDG (four weekly)
-Ryanair: Liverpool (three weekly)
East Midlands (three weekly…dropped)
And about to be announced Ansterdam.
There was thick fog at the moment. Are we sure the causes are known?. I would rule out anything for the moment.
Appart from Spanish of course. Galician (local regional language) 90% similar to Portuguese, English, German, Italian and a little French. I need refreshing them all, and starting new things. I started Russian but found it too hard.

Does it have anything to do with the plans of Defensive Shield in former european comunist countries?. Or simply interest in participating in the EADS shareholderships?. Anyway, good news indeed. EADS was needing it.
a voluntary greenhouse charge on Wednesday for passengers who want to offset the carbon dioxide emissions generated by their flights.

Being voluntary I would pay for it. Should I am force, I would change the airline. Same results with different tools.
