I see why they are loosing huge amounts of cash in each turnover released. Do they care at all?. Infinite statal aid, cheap fuel……some others are being even more stupid. Etihad at 214 return. I wonder how they are going to achieve being a first class destination, selling tickets at these price.
Cheaper going to Emirates than to Spain. There are even reasonable hotel fares. Unfortunately we only have Qatar Airways at MAD
All these events could happen in any airline of the world. I could fill pages with more appalling experiences. Qatar Airways is still one of the few with five star ratings.
http://www.turbulenceforecast.com I normally check this. Of course nobody can´t prevent CATs, but at least I know what to expect.
Isn´t a tail strike a normal procedure in planes testing?. I suppose it´s a terrifying experience, but I don´t know to what stance it´s risky.
I do expect my A380 to SIA won´t be changed in june. I would cancel my ticket. It will be my first time on the big bird, and I am looking forward to it. And I have got what I wanted, an upper cabin window seat. 😀
In most of their routes, not in all of them. You could have truck routes like the ones out of the UK, with rosy ocupancy but not enough to keep the whole system running. Fares have dropped drammatically as to risk even planes with most seats booked up. Formely for Emirates and many other airlines in the Gulf, it was enough buying planes, growing and growing to give splendour the the Emirate they bellonged, put the finger in other region countries eyes, and say…we are bigger. It doesn´t matter the traffic, we have huge amounts of petrol, and could put money and money on their flag carriers.
Dubai is suffering a drammatic setback in their finances, petrol is falling and Emirates figures are not really promising. I don´t know if the have any problem with their A380, but I have been watching them in the past months as finding excuses for all their problems. When will they say: we have planned a too big airline. Model is not working. I suppose they will have a little bit of responsability for it.
They should be concerned about their business plan, low occupancy in all sectors and fights and chaotic management. I wonder if they are trying to find an excuse to hide these elements.
Less than a year 😀
Well, no. The B757 are considered “heavy” (the ones creating wake turbulences). I don´t know the reason. Probably due to the lengh and size of the wings.
Please let me disagree with you Steve in this point a little bit. The number of crashes doesn´t indicate if an airline is safer or not, because we have to eliminate the ones in which the airline hasn´t had any responsability on them. For me for instance, is most remarkable the AA crash in Cali where the crew contributed to crash, to the DC10 crash over Paris, in which there was a McDonnell Douglas flaw and could happen in any other airline.
We can´t compare safety records of the airlines comparing the number of flights or the crashes since airlines (I am not sure in this case) operate in a different enviroment. Accidents are more likely to happen, when you operate ageing fleet with no GPWS, TCAS or weather radars, into airports with no equipment, and in areas of the world where the navigation aids are limited.
It´s not the same operating in the Andes mountain range every day, with an old B737-200 than doing it in a brand new B737-900 on the American skies with a lot of help.
I don´t know if TK is an unsafe airline as long as we don´t have any indication what has caused the crash. It´s too premature to take further considerations.
I would be such a ridiculous move that it doesn´t deserve any comment. Of course, for me enough is enough 😡
Luggage will be handled by flight attendants. It seems that Ryanair doesn´t mind considering 180 bags (usually trolleys) can´t fit into the racks. So it doesn´t matter if you rush push others aside to fight for a rack space, at the end, there´s not space enough. Flight attendants bringing luggage down, and delays.
I have just returned from Reus to Santigo this morning and the new situation is caothic. New system will only create additional problems and at the same time, big luggage can´t fit into scanner the machine. All passengers having to put it through the controls?. So, no chance of check in bottles, liquids an so on?.
No, thanks. I wil not fly them if they adopt the new system.
Nothing different to what Iberia makes in Spain………axe, axe, axe….hub, hub, hub. 😡 I do understand your upset.
Iberia tried to change the livery when they introduced the dull boring new uniforms. They received so many comments and suggestions about people that they didn´t want any livery change that they decided to keep it.
The logo?. Well, just ok.
I have already :diablo: Then I will be freaked out of flying, but plans are on the way…..:)
