Could anyone make me a small favour?. I have been trying to get Virgin website and I check the flights, when I want to check the prices……..it comes a page telling “we are unable to procced with your request…….” call reservation centre.

It happens in all computers I have checked over here. Does work in the UK?. Put 26th june LON-SIN (tourist) on the 22.00 flight, and then 5th July on the 23.00 flight HKG-LON (Premium Ecconomy).

It has happened the same with Valencia in Spain and Fuerteventura. Valencia has decided not to fullfill it´s commitment with the airline by not paying the subsidies. In fact, the real issue is Air Nostrum base in Valencia, it´s contacts with the regional goverment, and their aim to control the Valencia skies. I don´t know why Lanzarote has decided to do the same.

Anyway, there are many Spanish cities fighting to get a new base, and new planes from these bases. My city and Santander are the final contenders. I am affraid Santander will be able to pay more.

Thanks guys. I a bit doubtfull. Lowest start from 700 pounds, and Emirates gives me rt from 1300 with business in the return flight, so about the same of BA in World Traveller Plus. I don´t know how good is this class. Virgin Atlantic has just banned me from their web, after checking the prices day by day. Now only phone booking for me, so phased out.

Cathay good fares aren´t for sale yet, and Etihad doesn´t fly from Hong Kong, like Gulf Air. Qantas departure from Hong Kong in the morning (although good to prevent june storms there), it´s not really convenient.

So Lufthansa, Air France and Swiss boring packed coach. I am affraid I wait, unless I decide for BA World Travellers Plus. As far as I remember BA is great, but unconfortable in tourist. I need a private jet………

This not really related to aviation: Summer is wet season un Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong…..so expect rain. Do you think it´s still enjoyable?. I suppose rain in june is like in Thailand……heavy, short and in the afternoon. Anyone has travelled to the area?.

I tend to avoid B747-400: really packed. So I have ruled out BA. I prefer the A340. I usually get a window seat and enjoy only two seats on a row instead of three. I have been told about the low density configuration of the Swiss A340. How is it?.

Well, Virgin to SIN is operated by Singapore A380. I have checked AF, B777 with the new seats with screens and nice interiors. I will have to look to Cathay.

I have seen something amazing, which I will probably book. Emirates, stop at Dubai. B777 and A380 tourist at 585 pounds, and one way in Business with tourist coming back for only 1330 pounds. I find it just great, specially the A380 seats (with upper bar).

Well, I expected a deal, but they just did it. Aerolineas Argentinas impounded 😡 Price 1 $.

I wonder which are the weapons for Marsans to use now.

I have been talking to an Iberia pilot, and he had only praises for the crew. I don´t know if he has was exagerating with the applauses, but told me that they a chance out of hundred of landing safely. Could be it be true?.

The other side, is media……..only complaining about cancelations, no a single word about the accident, and the technical skills involved. 😮

Well not yet. What´s is clear that they want to get rid of Aero-ruins Argentinas, and they have a disagreement on the price. So no further steps has been taken from A. goverment. I assume the deal will be good for both sides. Marsans will try to improve their figures by getting rid of a real problem and Argentina doesn´t want any further problem with WTO or “friendly Spanish Goverment”.

Air Comet´s main job is the Sudamerica traffic, but needs a feeder to fill planes at Barajas. There´s a a kind-of-a-sort-of a fight between Iberia an Air Comet to control the remaining domestic traffic. Iberia controls and monopolizes almost the 80 per cent of all (counting Freakyair…opps sorry Clickair and Vueling), Air Nostrum, and now is using their tools and connections in the goverment to make Spanair to end into Iberia as well. Iberia doesn´t want Spanair, just close it to prevent Spanair feeding Air Comet flights in MAD.

So I seriously doubt they receive this amount of planes. They can´t simply cope with it. The other airline which was in the Marsans orbit was Air Pullmantur (now under Royal Caribbean Cruise line) and used to feed passengers for all Pullmantur Cruises vessels. But this brings operational problems: they need extra capacity and probably to fill ships in summer (two B747 are used for all destination at the same time) but they must be grounded in winter as ship don´t operate that much.

The most profitable trasatlĂĄntic service is the Madrid-Buenos Aires corridor, but traffic to South America has been falling down due to the Argentina permanent crisis and ours too. So…..I am not sure the end of this huge order.

    Good to hear no fatalities.

On the downside, completed some coursework last night about low cost carrier safety, and this has screwed up my statistics!

In fact it makes me fly more safely with them. Fantastic trainning. Not easy to land a crippled aircraft safely. FR figures are good anyway. 🙂

In fact it was a double engine failure. I have been reading some italian newspapers and it was a huge of flocks. Ciampino is particularly dangerous for that in autumn as flocks of birds coming from North Europe flee to the south. So they had a multiple hit, marks all over. One engine failed and tried to go round, so the other was lost too.

The nose pitched down and the crew fought to control de plane. The touch down with both engines off was violent so one undercarriage collapsed. These Ryanair guys have just made a fantastic job.

I fly regularly to CIA from SCQ and, I didn´t suspected it was a particularly tricky one. I wonder why they don´t have any ultrasonic device to prevent this happen. So after applauses and praises to the crew, I want to ask….who is the responsible for that?. Faulty information by the ATC to the crew, Ryanair for operating in an airport which can cope with this problem, or simple Italian Airports, for not making their very best to avoid this to happen. One thing is a bird strike cause it´s unavoidable and other is a huge flock passing by the landing path.

Well…………YES WE CAN. Elected. Congratulations to all the american people.

As in most European countries, in Spain we had it clear. Support of 85% per cent of the citizens. I suppose nothing will change drammatically, but at least gives a new prespective, a fresh air in the Oval Room.

Let´s hope it will be a good president.

Well Skymonster, aviation is not the major responsible for enviroment polution, cars are worst so far, and many other sector, which don´t have any tax. On the other way, I have heard that on each Ryanair flight only 15 people get the lowest fare, while the rest have to pay higher fares.
