Again tabloid style piece of news over here. In the brink of disaster…..crash, security under threat. Bla, bla, bla. They are creating such an alarming situation over here, that I think the justice should act sometimes. Yesterday, they even dared to publish a false transcription of the Spanair crash.
I wonder why they have omitted the A320 Iberia engine fire in Wien a few weeks ago. Pilots trade union, do you have selective memory?. Or simply because Iberia controls the whole stuff.
Well, the local attraction is seeing how the small Twin Otters simply come to the runway almost doing the spotters hair š®
Yes, I understand it…..but I wonder why they climbed. There were still a long way before the runway ended. ItĀ“s still very confusing to imagine why the plane simple went out of the runway.
I undestand that with a reverser deployed, the plane could go out as the other reverser was not deployed…..but climbing?. ItĀ“s hard to imagine what happened on board the cabin.
The result of the pilots autopsy has showed that “they had broken their arms trying to control de crippled plane”, I suppose this is not a literal meaning of course, but phase out, something which the media had been pointing out: the suicide.
According to the law you can leave the plane, but at the same time the airline can sue you for possible economic harms. So, I suppose if you have hand luggage only no problem.
I friend of mine has visited the crash site, as part of AENA staff. He saw the plane, and didn“t appreciate any substantial visible harm on the rudder. And yes, the Thrust reverser was deployed. So a bit odd, in a plane on take off.
Well this has been denied by one of the survivors. They simply tried to convince that nothing to worry about. In any case, noboby can“t prevent you from abandoning a flight unless doors are closed and it“s moving. I have left a couple of times, and no problem.
The airport camara has shown no engine explosion, and other odd things were observed. The plane almost needed th whole runway to take off, so it seems that there was a loss of power.
The pilots have been protesting about the fact that at the end of the new runway was a colony of gannets or vultures…whatsoever.
Witness pointed that it tilted and then collpased. No odd noises onboard. So….things are really confusing now.
Wake turbulence?.
Some things going on. No clear at the moment, that there were an explosion on the engine. They are analyzing the possible damage to the rudder and elevators. They are also analyzing the possible presence of birds in the area, a piece of metal or something on the runway, and even the incidence of a vortex seen at the time by other planes.
Also investigating the possibility of a wake turbulence, and that the crew could have turned the right engine off. So, still speculations.
Well, some comments. Media is behaving in a real obscene way. Alarming, biased, and putting a lot of rubbish on Spanair and the pilot. Trying to tarnish the reputation of the MDs, telling the caused so many crashes. Well, it“s media, they don“t know how to do it.
Grief, emotional stories like the six years old walking around, and crying telling that “he didnĀ“t like the film”, and wanted to wake up. Sounds like a bit of media invented story. But lotĀ“s of personal stories. People who lost the flight for errors with electronic tickets, flight attendants who change the flight, and a channel with a camara on, recording the whole take off of same JK fight 5022 today.
Not anger against Spanair for the moment, but tought moments will come soon. This will get really nasty. Media has also reported that in the last 35 random inquieries made by aviation officials didn“t show anything wrong with maintenance procedures.
I am still surprised of how can an engine explode in such a way.
I haven“t been able to continue watching the news in a traumatized country.
Some witness indicate that the plane swinged, and presumably impacted with the right wing on the tarmac. This makes me think about that the pilot hasn“t been able to control de crippling plane. Was the rudder or elevator affected by the debris after the plane engine explosion?.
The media is behaving in an alarming way. Flying is not safe in the country, they are starting to talk about flying coffins, and that the model was never safe (they confuse it with the DC10). Well, usual stuff.
One confirmation is that one of the babies survived. Lots of terrible stories.
100 are official numbers. Unofficial are about 150. But as I told you, when I talked with my cousin who witnessed how it fell down, that it was going to be that tough.
No less than 100 dead. That“s confirmed. Some sources talk about 150 fatalities. OH GOD.:confused::confused:

My initial thoughts
How in a civilized country can a plane crash for an engine failure?
How a highly reputed airline could have suffered such a fatal crash?
Wasn“t SAS and Spanair maintanace a good one?
I can“t understand a word. Shocked this afternoon.
No less than 45 according to oficcial figures of the Regional Goverment headspeaker.
I am about to hear the official press conference. None of my friends were on the crew list. I want to be careful, but Spanair MD had been seriously questioned by SEPLA (Spanish Pilots Trade Unions).
More than 100 fatalities, unofficial sources.
I just heard over 50 are dead? š
Don“t trust El Pais newspaper. No official figures announced yet.
