Ex-Israeli A-4 Ahit with the extended tailpipe!
The picture of the Ecureuil/Fennec lifting the Bandeirante is rather unusual.
It is not lifting it. Simply hovering in front of it.
I did a little research, and found out that the Flamant did indeed serve with the South Vietnamese air force.
Indeed, 50 MD-315 Flamant “police coloniale” did serve in the RVNAF. Hovever I strongly suspect that this particular aircraft is F-AZGE / P, the MD-312 preserved by enthusiasts of Association Amicale Alençonnaise des Avions Anciens, which AFAIK did not serve in VN but is painted to represent one of the MD-315s that did.
Things are not always exactly what they are purported to be… đŸ˜€

The IWM think it’s a Hastings too. Any clues?
According to my references, it is an Israeli DC-4 re-supplying the advanced Tsahal units during op Kadesh, the local counterpart of Musketeer.
But I must say your references sound pretty sure of themselves, and the IWM is usually a respectable source.
Subjectively I find that the bottom view matches better a DC-4 than a Hastings, but who am I am to question the Imperial museum?
The floor is yours, with congrats.
Right period, wrong airplane.
You’re warm.
