Definately Easton Lodge,Can see it from my desk. The building behind the NAFFI van is a water tower and is still there along with the houses.

Yesterday I watched the 1958 Dunkirk movie, with John Mills and Richard Attenborough.A bit laccking in the aerial department apart from a WW2 clip of some Stukas. There were plenty of soldiers on the beach. Not to bad a film I thought-had’nt aged too badly.

I come on here perhaps once a day.I always read the Duxford posts.Loved the ME 109 replica posts. The “what have I found” posts don’t really do alot for me,so I don’t read them-as easy as that.!!

Better airmanship would have been to ensure having somewhere suitable for a safe force-landing BEFORE starting aerobatics.

Thanks for posting all those photos.I first started to go to Duxford in the early
’70s with my late father. He had learned to fly in the Fleet Air Arm.He owned a half share in a glider and was a member of Cambridge University Gliding Club who were based there then.Gliders were winch launched and there wasI think
a caravan or similar at the M11 end that served as a club house.Whilst waiting your turn for a flight (I had to sit on a cushion and have extra ballast) you were free to wonder wereever you wanted.
