EUROPEAN COMISSION APPROVES €20M CIVIL AIRCRAFT DEVELOPMENT CREDIT
FOR NEXT GENERATION FOKKER AIRCRAFT.
APPROVAL BRINGS NG AIRCRAFT CLOSER TO LAUNCHING THE FOKKER NEXT
GENERATION PROGRAM.
SCHIPHOL, NOVEMBER 17, 2010 – The European Commission has approved the Civil
Aircraft Development Credit which was awarded to NG Aircraft in March 2010 by the Dutch
ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. The Dutch government granted the
€20M credit for the development of the Fokker 100 Next Generation (F-100NG).
“This is an important step forward for the Fokker Next Generation program. The approval
acknowledges the unique innovative “green” characteristics of the new aircraft”, says
Maarten van Eeghen, Managing Director of NG Aircraft. Over the last summer a team,
including several Dutch engineering agencies, such as ADSE, Atkins, Sergem, Fokker
Services and the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) of The Netherlands, successfully
completed the preliminary design review of the F-100NG. Discussions with potential
suppliers and industrial partners are in an advanced stage.
“We are close to starting the development phase in which we will modify an existing Fokker
100 test bed and equip it with the new engines, winglets and systems”, says Van Eeghen.
NG Aircraft has presented the program to several airlines, meeting substantial interest.
The Fokker 100 Next Generation is based on the unique lightweight structure of the current
Fokker 100 aircraft. New engines, avionics hardware, and winglets will result in lasting
superior economic and environmental performance. Fuel consumption and CO2 emission will
be 18% lower relative to its direct competitor. The noise pressure will be 70% lower. The 110
seats F-100NG is the point of design for the Fokker JetLine Next Generation aircraft. Over
time the family will be expanded with a 85 seater and a 130 seater aircraft. Van Eeghen:
“The Fokker Next Generation Program is destined to become the new benchmark for
regional aircraft”.
NG Aircraft is the successor of Rekkof Aircraft N.V. and is a subsidiary of Panta Holdings b.v.
owned by Mr. Jaap Rosen Jacobson. NG Aircraft has the goal to develop and start the
production of the Fokker Next Generation Aircraft.

But the RAF would not had to buy the Tornado if they had had the TRS 2
and as you say with updates/improvements,may have still been around.
What do you think they would have called it.
what if
Hi
What if the TRS.2 had not been canceled.
How mant would the RAF have ordered.
Would it have also been sold abroad.
And would it still be flying now .
Peter.
fokker still going strong 90 years on
used to?
There still do. Check Airliners.net for up to date photos. The weight of the paint depends on the livery. I can’t rememeber the exact figures off the top of my head, but I think a typical livery on a 747-400 is about 750 to 1000kg
With AA aircraft, the metal is protected by a clear lacquer. I’m told it protects the metal as much as a coat of paint would.
The AA FOKKER 100s were just Polished, did not have any clear lacquer over them.
I have a photo off the first US Air being polished at FOKKER,can anyone tell me how i can up load it.

The photos were taken before 1971
