    I’ve walked along the perimeter track at Harrington towards the Thor launch pad areas, in the early 90’s, probably before the museum was established. I will certainly go back and visit the museum, perhaps this summer. I wasn’t aware the operations block had survived as I can only remember seeing the remains of the Thor structures.

    Remember seeing those model Wellingtons fly at the LMA show at Cosford in 2002. A 3-ship formation flying low over the airfield made you stop and stare. If only…
    Nicely flown as well.

    The Sunday Telegraph’s qoute may have been either lazy or mischievous. It may be possible that Hollywood (and Tom Cruise) have taken on board the sentiments felt after the U-571 film, and try to go for a more balanced approach.
    Now where’s that straw to clutch….

    Just finished the book “First Light”, in which Wellum has a spell at Duxford with 92 Sqn prior to the move to Pembrey. No date given, only generalised as summer 1940.

    I must have a look this year. Not seen her before.
    BTW, I am assuming those Friday 13th nose art panels at Hendon are from the original. Never noticed them before stuck halfway up the wall, out of the way, without any captions.

    I have the original IL-2, Forgotten Battles and the ACE Expansion Pack. Hopefully Maddox will provide a download patch for a flyable Tempest V at some stage!
