Nice images gents, I too would like to see the name change from BBMF to somthing else. When they did the first one of this year at the CWH and Russell show afew across the pond didn’t seem to like us Canucks highjaking the name ( and i see thier point ). I talked with the Russell organizers about maybe changing it to Canadian Memorial Flight or somthing of that nature, any suggestions?
One highlite for me was to finally get the chance to sit down and chat with Charlie Fox DFC & Bar. What a fantstic talk we had.

LOL you beat me to it 🙂

Great to see these organizations working together, looks like 2009 will be even better.

Jack anymore images from Malta? 185 Sqdn? The one of Wg Cdr Peter Prosser Hanks aircraft is very interesting since my friend Jerry B served under his command. He said that Mr. Hanks did not let anyone fly his aircraft, ofcourse Jerry did but it was serial number BR498 Got a image of this one in your collection?

Thats what the organizers called it, Russell Aviation Group.
What would you preferre they call it?? Personally i figured that people across the pond would not like the idea of them using the same name.
If I were running the show I would have went with Victory flight or something of that nature.
Regardless of what you call it, it is still a nice tribute to the men and women that gave their lives for our freedom.

Thanks Daz, it was stunning to witness. It really amazed me how the DB601 could still be heard with 7 Merlins surrounding it.

Jerry Billing with 52.5 years displaying Spitfires with 250 + combat sorties with the RAF and RCAF. I know during the 1970’s-1990’s he put a lot of hours on MK923, as for he would be over the house I grew up in by Windsor air port which seemed daily back then.
Cheers Dave C
Even with it being grounded since 2000, I would think MK923 would have quite a few hours on it. I know Jerry B racked up alot of hours when it was in his care.

Very Sad, RIP Mr. Henshaw

Thank you all, very much appreciated. I will start hunting down these books.
The Merlins Over Malta DVD was superb, the air to air footage was just breath-taking.
