I never cared for the bland and boring lines of the Strat-style guitars myself. A bolt-on does absolutely nothing for me either, nor do the Gibson/Epiphone set necks. Give me a good ESP or Jackson any day, with a BC Rich as a backup. If you want another iconic guitar styling that I myself would identify with far more than the Strat style, what about the original Randy Rhoads Jackson offset V?

I ordered a number of things from them a few years ago. It took about a month for my package to arrive, but I did get my order. For some reason international shipping can seem to take its sweet time sometimes.

I do know the Mirage III and MIrage V use canards but those are post Kfir deployment and a subproduct of it and most important not all the Mirage III and V have them and all are modifications done and none was a new build aircraft however all Kfirs have them since they were initially built except the Neshers which are not called Kfirs.

Wrong. Dassault began to fiddle with Mirage foreplanes in the late 1960s during the Milan project. That proved to not be totally effective, so they turned to canards instead. The original Kfirs didn’t even have canards, either. People sometimes think they did because the Kfirs leased to the US for aggressor duty were fitted with them before delivery, but the Kfir-C1 as originally built had no canard foreplanes.

yeah but Russian sources and american sources have never affirmed the J-10 is entirely domestic, to the contrary they affirm it is an IAI Lavi descendant.

Well now you’re just going to have to make up your mind…do you consider Western sources credible, or don’t you? :diablo:

so these are test round missiles?

And wouldn’t you know it, they’re even being fired by test fleet aircraft

ur non-stealth J-10 cannot hide.

We could make this really interesting and start applying your logic behind that argument to another Chinese product…

ur just assuming stuff without knowledge to back it up. Taiwan knew even in 1997 that J-10 is Lavi when there is no reported flight.

Notice how they say “based on Lavi technology”. That could mean the radar, the wheels, the IFF antenna design…it doesn’t imply that the entire jet is a carbon copy or even a direct derivative.

RWRs only tell you a hostile warning in the plane’s rear hemisphere. However, it does not distinguish targets per se.

Tell that to a Raptor pilot 😎

the Kfir has canards the Mirage III/V do not have them

Yeah, no. Go review the various Mirage III/V models. You’ll find canards in a lot of places.

Historical evidence:The J-10 has been claimed to be a direct descendant of the Lavi by the US, Russia and some Israeli news papers.

That’s called hearsay and is not direct or conclusive evidence. The open press is the last place anyone should look for factual or accurate information.

The Kfir is a direct descendant of the Mirage this is acknowledged by IAI and Dassault..
Su-34 and T-10 these are related aircraft Sukhoi acknowledges it

Yet, Chengdu and/or IAI aren’t commenting on the J-10 – Lavi connection…I guess that means they aren’t, right?

Otaku, if you have a fascination with the number 76, it will be the number of days you are banned from the forum the next time you blatantly choose to insult another forum member for no good reason apart from the fact that you have nothing further to constructively contribute to the debate. And Nick, you’d do well not to provoke him on purpose, or you will also have to share a similar fate in the spirit of equality and fair play.

That’ll be two weeks off for Slobo, and two weeks off for Jai. Consider this a vacation, or something. And drop all the nationalistic crap, people, seriously. This constitutes everyone’s official warning. The next person to spout off with some nationalistic load of BS is going to be gone, and won’t be coming back. This is simply unacceptable behavior for mature adults, which is what we’re all supposed to be.

BTW about boomers, do u know what is the main role of the B-2? the most super -duper stealth plane?, is to attack russian objetives after an ICBM bombing, not as a pre-emtive attack, you know why?

Not entirely. The B-2 was conceived as a counterforce platform as well as a counterstrike platform, counterforce being flying across Russia to take out mobile Topol TELs.

well because stealth is not like u think, it help you to decrease the RCS, against missile interception -well, still missile tech isnt very reliable- but everybody see it in the radar screens

LO helps you decrease your RCS across targeted bandwidths. It does not make you invisible, and why you keep thinking that people are thinking that way is beyond me when that is clearly not what they are stating.

The bombing of the Iraqs radar sistem to shut-down the sadam anti-air sistem wasnt done by F-117s…was done by Apaches

Well you just failed history 101, find me hte Apache units that were flying around Baghdad taking out all of the EW assets there on the first night of the war, will you?

so stop thinking that stealth is the Tarzans Mom

stealth tech is an advantage, but isnt so decisive as many ppl thinks

Nobody sensible is stating that it is unilaterally effective and the all-encompassing solution. That’s just the argument people sink to when they can’t think of anything else more sensible to say.

The original F-4 Phantoms did not come equipped with 20mm cannons(or .50 cal machine guns). It just relied totally on Sidewinder missiles to engaged enemy aircrafts. Something happened during early part of air war caused US to add cannons to the F-4s. I believed it was attaching a gun pod beneath the fuselage.
Moral of story, just make sure who or what you’re shooting at before opening fire.

The 20mm M61 was added externally and then internally in the F-4E because missiles were proving to be singularly unreliable in Vietnam. This is also why the “dogfight” AIM-7E variant was developed and fielded. Fratricide was not a problem in the air war (don’t know about the ground war, never researched it). The early model F-4s also did employ the AIM-7, they were just constrained by the existing ROEs to perform WVR engagements, reducing the effectiveness of the weapon system.

Somebody bring up the whole Indian thing in here again, please. I haven’t employed the ban feature for a while, and this will be an exercise to ensure the continued functionality of the system. If there’s something relevant regarding India that deals directly with the PLAAF or PLANAF, then it is free to be discussed in this thread. But IAF attrition figures or perceived societal issues are not relevant.

Also, Hell King, 21Ankush, and Golden Dragon: consider yourselves warned. Throwing around accusations of racism for no apparent reason is not warranted and only served to derail the thread further.

That is all, stop reading and go about your business.

So i have to believe you? yeah SOC i prefer to believe a Russian and Israeli news papers than You or any one else here, why? simple no nation knows more about the J-10 in the world than Russia after China why? simply they modified the jet.

The J-10 has Russians systems so the Russians worked in the J-10 directly contrary to you who just speculate and accept a false history of the J-10.

If you ask me who i will listen i will say the Russians and not you when it comes to the Lavi/J-10 connection and if the Jerusalem post and Haaretz also accept that well man i do not believe you.:D 😉

You don’t have to believe my opinion on the matter, no. But you should be smart enough to realize that the J-10, being a larger and heavier aircraft, with different design geometries, will not have the performance of the Lavi, regardless of any hypothetical Israel-Russia-China love triangle.

What Russian systems other than the engine does China say are in their J-10? We already know that the really important bits, the weapons and the fire control system, are Chinese. And for your logic to mean anything to anyone those Russians who installed the ejector seat handles or whatever will have to have been the same ones that wrote the article…otherwise the article’s authors are just as guilty of speculation!

If you get a Gripen with AIM-120C, IRIS-T and in few years Meteor the J-10 won`t stand a chance, same is the Eurofighter.

SD-10 is comparable to the current AMRAAM. PL-8 is not Python 5 but it is a copy of the Python 3 and as such a weapon to respect. Meteor will be a different story, but still, the J-10 is clearly not completely outclassed, is it?

The J-10 is a Lavi derivative

Prove it. You’ve failed to do so thus far.

and already the Lavi had roll rates of 300deg/s something in the range of the Eurofighter and Rafale, it must have a instantaneous in the range of 30deg/s like the Gripen or slightly more like the Rafale

The J-10 is larger, heavier, and has different geometry than the Lavi. It will not have the same performance because a Russian told you it came from Israel. Try again.
