some of the ones who want small government also want a big military

It’s not necessarily a physically small government. “Big Government” vs. “Small Government” is a debate between how much control over our lives people think the government should have, basically. Democrats and liberals want government involvement in all manner of things. Republicans and conservatives tend to favor less government involvement. Both sides recognize that the military is still necessary for national defense and policy making, Democrats and liberals just tend to put less money into it because they want to prop up the lower classes with social programs in order to create a renewable voting base. There’s only so much money to go around. “Big Government” proponents will tend to put less money towards a lot of programs. “Small Government” proponents will put that money towards a lesser number of things to limit government influence and as a result things like the defense budget increase under their watch.

    Depends on what you want.

For US missile systems, there’s: http://www.designation-systems.net

I go into missile systems at times on my website, usually strategic level systems: http://geimint.blogspot.com

Beyond that, you’ll need to be a bit more specific. Are you looking for air launched weapons? Ballistic missiles? I can point you to a number of more dedicated references along those lines.

Democrats have the House, the Senate, and the White House.

The next four years will be some of the worst in recent history for America, at least domestically speaking.

Let’s see if Barack keeps his promise to get the US combat forces out of Iraq in 18 months, that’ll be amusing to watch.

??? In what scenario would your Hornets need to defend your country against swarms of Su-30s? Whose Su-30s, BTW?

Ask Carlo Kopp, he knows

Are you serious on the above point you have made ? By that point it would also mean the F1 is better then the F-16 PAF uses.

The F1 would’ve at least given them a BVR capability instead of having to wait for the JF-17. So in that aspect it would have been “better” than the F-16A’s that Pakistan got originally.

If you don’t already do that sort of thing as a professional this might be of interest to you:

(Christ, the price has gone up. 😮 I think I got it for about fifty bucks four or five years ago.)

This goes into a lot of the more recent stuff (about as much as you’ll find that’s not proprietary/classified anyway).

That was actually one of the textbooks for my Master’s degree!

Non-maneuvering targets can be KC-135s or other heavy aircraft.

Collecting Military aircraft photos is a Hobby, no profit is made by me, and i spend hours looking for the unusual. I like to share with other enthusiasts what i find…otherwise, whats the blinking point.

I think the Copyright Police on here and elsewhere should realise that most of us are just enthusiasts like them, and have no intention of stealing anyones copyriight. Those that do, make it harder for people like me to post my images, which ruins superb threads like these at key…….

I hear what you’re saying, but the problem is that we have gotten complaints about copyright violations. So this is really the only solution to the problem from Key’s standpoint.
