Or maybe he was attempting to be the first man to walk around the world?

    SOC-

I say send him to Venezuela- he seems to be a known terrorist who has blood on his hands. Asylum should be for people who are fleeing tyranny or persecution based soley upon religion or race, etc. etc. This man seems only want to get out of being punished for his crimes. Terrorism is not a means to an end; it only makes things worse. Perhaps we could ask the family of the Italian tourist what should be done with Mr. Carriles…?

Extradite him; let Venezuela retry him and throw him back in prison. He is an escaped prisoner and a known terrorist; there should be no question about it. Asylum, right. What a coward.

So which is better? A Boeing 777 or an Airbus A330?

Makes you wonder if it’s such a great idea to plaster his picture and location all over the place… if he is so agitated and distressed/depressed- perhaps he has a reason not to want to be found…

I’d venture to say he is probably autistic, though.

Did anyone ask the guy what was wrong before they threw him off the plane?

And according to the article the man was “shouting” not just quietly whispering as someone who may just be a nervous flyer would. (Which by the way, might worry me more, no matter what their nationality)

I’m not sure searching the plane and delaying the flight two hours was all that warranted; but given the situation as it is and assuming at the time they had other information, and thought they had reason to- it can probably be chocked up to the crew just being extra sure.

Based on the number of threads on this forum during the last few years that were political in nature or context or had political overtones, I believed there was a good level of understanding about the basic election process of both the U.S. federal government and the British parliamentary systems on this forum, but now I am not so sure.

    Sauron

    So, enlighten us, Sauron! 😀

But keep in mind that we are trying to compare the two systems; not disect them! Breaking it down to it’s simplest form is not the goal- only describing it in such a way as so it can be compared to the other. Not an easy task, but I invite you to pick up where we have left off- You may be much better at it than any of us and I’d love to know where the differences and similarities in the two forms of “election process” reside!
