G-WGHB in it’s previous guise as CF-EHB,Southend Museum 1974

Second photo is one of my ancient pics.Air France Caravelle F-BHRT taxying in at Manchester in the snow still trailing it’s brake chute.Phto taken early 1970s
Sorry,I forgot to include the photos!

A realy good site
But why do the IHM ban the use of tripods?Last year I travelled down from the North West with the specific intention of photography only to be brusquely informed of this ban by a member of staff. As I was using 50 ASA slide film my day was completely wasted.
The Javelin FAW.9 in Worcester was with 187 Sqn ATC at Perdiswell. She left in 1987 for the now defunct Avon Aviation Museum at Monkton Farleigh. After several moves she is now in the safe hands of the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington.Photo taken summer 1983.
Avery sad sight.A hangar full of stored Lightnings
Closing down at the end of the last formation flying display
A couple of pics from the very emotive(and very wet!) Last Lightning Show at Binbrook Sept 1987
The Binbrook Gate-guard Lighting was F.3 XP748 which left Binbrook for Wembury 29/6/88,presumably for scrapping(W&R 12th edit.)There was also a Spitife F.22 PK664 on the gate which left for R.A.F.M. store at St.Athan 30/11/88.Photos were taken at the Last Lightning Show September 1987.
The Lightning had 5 Sqn markings on one side and 11 Sqn on the other.
The 2 Cats were both operated by Avalon Aviation up to 1988.It may be their colour scheme?
Just for Marauder here are the previously mentioned KarAir D.C.6(OH-KDA) and Invicta Britannia(G-AOVF)both taken at Manchester May 1980.
Archer, sorry I don’t know what Flight Support Europe used her for or even if she flew in the 2 years they had her.The full history of the aircraft is in Warbirds Directory.I’ve just noticed she has a FSE badge on her forward fuselage
The last Connie to LAND at Manchester(UK) was,I believe L-1049G Freighter F-BGNG of Catair in the winter of 1970/71Here is is on the occasion of that visit basking in typical Manchester weather on the old freight apron.Of course we have had both the MATS and the Dutch Connies make low passes down RW24 in recent times.
