    Hi Wozza,

I think it may be being scrapped, parted out as we call it.

She was one of four ex Chinese -100s purchased by a company called Avtrade and ferried to SEN in 2003.

I did some storage checks on them, but eventually no buyers were found and they decided to scrap them 🙁

I will find out for sure and let you know.

Incidentally if you have not been there already, http://www.smiliner.com is a good source of info on the 146/RJ.

I have been maintaining aircraft for over 26 years, civil and military, I fly regularly as a crew member and like to share my experiences with interested people through this forum.

I live in Bahrain and I am fully aware of of the reasons for the different Gulp Air liveries, it was only a joke  .

Sadly some people think they are better/more inteligent than others. I dont know why.

I will find out how to post small pictures and study all the liveries of all the airlines in the world just so that I dont give sad people the chance to ridicule me.

No I won’t, I will just have another swim in my pool and another beer while I sunbathe, recover from the F1 GP & look forward to my next trip to another exotic location :diablo: .

I’m just watching the above and seen a Gulf Air (?) on a fly-by. Can anyone tell me the aircraft type and reg? (It’s in a special gold colour scheme)

Philatgatwick, the A330 was A40-KC and the A340 was A40-KC.

Gulf air have several colour schemes at the moment, a bit if an identity crisis I think.

See my trip report, Masrieah, scat and Kuwait, it shows the terminal at BAH with four different Gulp Air tails

I have just posted pix of the GP flypast.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the repy, it makes it all worth the effort and I am happpy that people find my input interesting.
Like you I am more “into” historical/military stuff but I visit so many strange places (today we went to Port Sudan) that I feel the need to share it with anyone that may have an interest.

A cople of people have mentioned thier surprise and I think maybe I should place my reports somewhere else 😉 cos many people may be missing them, what do you think ?

The operation I work for is military and we visit many military bases, but taking pictures is decidedly dodgy to say the least, but look out for simmilar reports on the military forum. (A couple of monts ago we were at Tehran intl. and an Iranian SU27 taxied past us but I didnt have my camera) 😡

    Thanx again.

^aww that sounds like your typical Soviet person 🙁
how was the “city” life? i’ve seen lots of new development there, but are the people really benefitting from all that gas.

Dunno, we flew in and out again, The people I met were nice enough but looked poor. So I guess that the President and his cronies have got big swiss bank accounts. 😡

It is probably a “christmas tree” when they need a spare they rob it from this airframe, most skint airlines do this.

it maybe an odd ball aircraft but at least it looks as if it’s maintained properly rather than left to slowly decay like so many RAF gate guardians.

Ah, I watched the pillar being built as I passed everyday going to work and wondered what they would put up there, imagime my surprise when that thing arrived. It has been up there about 14 months so give it time…..

I saw two, one short fat and ugly the other tall slim and not too ugly but the gold teeth were a bit of a turn off
