I only work with the RJ85s, about 75% of our work is for the Royal Flight though and we have a very good working relationship with them

They are based at Bahrain International (OBBI) and we are based at Shaikh Isa Airbase (OBBS).

Our primary role is transporting Military and Government VIPs and we are essentially a military unit but we run on EASA145 regs and the aircraft are civil registered in the private cat.

We often arrive with the royal flight aircraft (we carry the guards, servants etc.) and the King flies on his 747SP, I took this one in Sharm El Sheikh last year
    The wing is our RJ.

When the first RJ85 arrived in Bahrain (11 Nov 2001) it was escorted in by 2 F16s, one on each wingtip, unfortunately I was not on board, a colleague took this one 🙁

Blimey!! I didnt think there would be such a positive response to the report 😀

As I am new to this I am rather chuffed and thanks to all that have replied above, (funny nobody mentioned the F16 lurking in the background in the first pic)

I think I will post a report for all the good trips, we have been to some interesting places over the last year i.e. Islamabad,Tashkent, Ashkhabad, Tehran and Jeddah to name a few.

I see many interesting aircraft and from now on I will attempt to take more/better pics.

BHXlocal, go ahead and use the pics as you wish, I will send some more for you to “fix” if you like. Last year I took a picture of a North Korean TU154 while working at Halim Perdanakusuma, Indonesia, but I only had a crap camera. It would be good if you could improve it for me 🙂

I flew into Dubai today and the A380 is there parked next to a 747…. and 2 B1B’s a bit further along the ramp. It certainly makes everything else look small. 🙂
