    Hi Guys,
    new panel acquired. Its from a RAAF CAC Winjeel. Condition as per the pic is as removed from its last airframe.:D  photo 1376811_644486592252168_93042891_n.jpg

    Hi Mark,
    that is correct, several parts of this airframe do still exist albeit in different places now.

    Ahhh I still remember that Auction at Gary Camms vividly. Sabre spares (Complete wings and Rudders in crates), Spitfire Spares and come to think of it there was a little bit of everything almost 😀

    Yes, it was sad to say the least… My photos taken a couple years before that Airshow display speak of its condition then!

    Awesome work chaps!! So its looking like my hunch was correct about Hurricane 😀 The Provenance of which is even stronger as the South African Air Force operated a few!

    Righty O, After some considerable persuasion I managed to extricate the prop from the hub.
    A quick clean with some acetone to strip the grey paint off has revealed these!!

    Its no different here in Oz… at least you guys get a chance to bid or buy the gear. Australian Govt decrees majority of it has to be destroyed. Helmets, Suits, G-suits, Gloves etc. Occasionally there is an electronics Auction but you have to be one of the favored few to even get a notice that its going to be held.

    i have heaps of sight bases and magnifying collimator glasses but no graticules for them
