I’m still searching for parts to complete my Mk1E thats sitting in the museum at the moment. Had the seat for 20 years now and finding parts in Oz is almost non existant for that model as most were modded to Mk2E standard or scrapped when the Meteors were disposed of
So if anyone knows of where to get some parts for this seat..drop me a line!! PLEASE 😀
Chris
awesome………..many thanks again 🙂
Thanks bruce for a fantastic download 🙂 Had no problems downloading it on this side of the pond.
Merry Christmas all,
Chris
I’ve used wood glue and black acrylic craft paint mixed together as a good substitute.
Step 1
You mix the paint and glue.. ratio 1 paint to 3-4 glue
Step 2
Paint the column with reasonable layer and allow to dry
Step 3
Redo above until you reach the required thickness
I’ve used it on spitfire and vampire stick grips. The beauty is that if done in thin layers the paint is self levelling.
Hahahahaha I took those photos 🙂 I emailed them to Peter Dunn ages ago. The story was the company recovered the aircraft, it sat in almost that condition for 5 years with nothing done to it. It was then exhibited at Archerfield for an airshow in a diorama like exhibit. The stainless parts on it were as good as they day they were made….the rest was cr@p :p
I believe the aircraft was eventually sold off as scrap metal as there was no interest in buying it..only part still in existence is the half roundel on the side
That doesn’t sound to be Australian at all ….CAC Built components normally have a
in a circle, not an Aus . Maybe a pic would help identify it?
Cheers,
Chris
The Brown Brothers (Aircraft) Ltd hardback catologue of Aircrft Standard Parts is the book to look out for.

Chris
