Cheers Steve and Phil! 🙂
Nice shots, Matt. 🙂
I love the 2nd Ryanair shot and the last one – great colours. 🙂
Thanks for the comments Elgan :).
Oh and just wondering, how did you feel flying back in the daylight? I’d rather do that, than the night return back, you can go straight to bed once your home then, and the jet lag im sure would be less severe!
I found the flight times excellent, because when we arrived in New York we could go straight to bed and then wake-up pretty much like normal in the morning and go out and do stuff. It’s tempting to go to sleep on the plane outbound(impossible in VS economy:( ) but it would be pointless sleeping the whole 7 hours given that it’ll be time for bed when you arrive. Similiarly on the way back, when we got home, it was straight to bed and woke up around midday today, so I got at least half a day to do things whereas a night return would make it difficult to do anything on the following day.
I suppose you can even getter a quicker flight going at those times because the delays & availability of the NAT tracks are less (delays) and better(availability)!:D
Also as I said, immigration queues at Newark were non-existant as we were the last flight in & the last thing ya want after a 7 hour flight is a 2 hour queue.
Out of curiosity, if you’re approaching from the west, and landing on 09L, why would the aircraft make a 180-degree turn? Surely, that would take you back to where you just came from? 😉
I thought that to be a bit strange at first as well until I looked at the charts. I assumed we were holding. I’ve included one in an attachment if anyone’s interested. You come in from the west to Ockham and then turn back on yourself to line up for the approach.
Thanks for comments everyone!
Excellent report there, Jon, with good pics. I got EI-DEO when I flew that route last year.
Excellent shots. Seeing the Virgin A340 makes me excited – I’ll be on a -300 series one later today.:D
Super shots, I really enjoyed viewing them.:)
Great shots, especially the Virgin A346.:)
whats the BIGMA  😮
James
A camera lens made by Sigma – 50 to 500mm and quite big, hence ‘Bigma’.
Great set of shots, Sam. I like the FCA 767 shot especially.
The NW A330 is beautiful:).
What is it with Ryanair sending all of it’s newest types to LBA? I’ve flown on their -800’s more than 30 times, but not even any as new as EI-DL* let alone EI-DP*!
Lol. I’ve travelled with them a rather pathetic 4 times and each time it’s been a post EI-DAM reg(the ones that came with the new livery). I was lucky enough last May to go on EI-DLL on only its second ever passenger flight! However I now want to go on one of the older ones with the older cabin interior. (if they’re still around:confused:)
I’m running out of different things to say about your shots, Paul, so I’ll just stick with saying that they’re Excellent :D.
Nice Thomsonfly 757 capture – the scenery behind looks lovely.
Excellent shots – the A109 heli is my favourite.;)
