Very nice collection, Paul. 🙂
Loving the SQ A380 too.
Isn’t the Danish Legoland in Billund. And also im in St Pancras soon, what is the closest airport to that and how far?
Thanks
Probably London City, around 6 or 7 miles away. You won’t see anything from St Pancras though.

Whilst I’ve never visited the area, my general opinion is quite clear on these issues (we have similar complaints from Gatwick residents). The person bought a house near an airport and thus they should expect noise, road congestion and expansion prospects. It comes as part of the package. More fool them if he/she doesn’t like it.
PS : I agree with Paul regarding the writer’s 757 comments – what a load of tosh!
Thanks guys.
Any guesses on what the plane in the overflight picture is? I was thinking something like a Lufthansa B747. Image was taken at 11:45 if that helps.

and finally a BabyBus to finish the day’s arrivals on 27L:
Many thanks for looking
Hi, has anyone ever been and know how close it is to any of the London airports?
Thanks
IIRC Legoland is near Windsor so the nearest London airport is Heathrow. When I was very young and went I remembered Concorde taking off and flying straight over there.

Brilliant photos. 🙂
Am I right in thinking that these 27L departure shots are taken from near the petrol station on the perimeter road? It’s just that I’m thinking of going tomorrow and want to try and get some different angles to those I usually get at Myrtle Ave.
From BBC
A pilot and co-pilot were reportedly aboard the Federal Express jet
Well I would sincerely hope so.
It does seem quite a bizarre sequence of events. The METAR report for around the time of the crash is RJAA 222230Z 30018KT 9999 FEW030 12/M03 Q1001 WS R34R TEMPO 31020G30KT RMK 1CU030 A2959 2218 MOD TURB BLW 500FT ON FNA RWY34R B767
Interesting bit is the winds & the remark. Was predicted to be gusting 30kts so it wouldn’t suggest a major crosswind component, but if I can read that correctly it says that a 767 reported moderate turbulence below 500ft. That could be a factor.
Just found this interesting video on Youtube (not sure how long it’ll stay on there). Shows a sequence of the actual landing.

I saw a Mail on Sunday travel article today called “How to avoid Mr O’Leary’s £320 sting for the privilege of checking in” which outlined all their add-on costs and charges. Of course this cost would be if you needed baggage, airport check-iin etc but it really is quite staggering and will probably have the effect of making some people think twice about booking with them.
