Thank you for the update, I had hoped you would be able to wow me with some pictures of grey/green in service, but alas a story of mix up and confusion will do nicely!
While we are asking about Newark projects could I ask about the Auster AOP9, I see the tail is now in a grey/green finish and wondered if that was a cammo/style used on the 9 (brown/green seems the norm). I can’t find any reference to it used on others but I do think it looks really nice and good luck with the project.
Hi Dave
Thanks for that info, and thanks for taking the time to post.
Regards
Jon
BBMF, Metheringham, Newark are all spot on places to visit round this part of the world chap
so you could upgrade yourself then?
Yeah seems a bit of an odd thing to me but hey always like to learn, I found your PM!!!
Nicely worn in MF135….. at the risk of pushing the boundries of this topic could anyone confirm that the RAF used these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201543061699?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Is he on here? I tried to PM you about some spares but I think your inbox is full??
Not sure on that one, although it has been mentioned on here before ( she is XP282 ) I bought it from a good friend of mine who lives in my neck of the woods. I would love to find out more on its service history but alas google does not throw up much for me in that respect.
Quick picture of how she stands now, on a rare visit outside………

Hello David. I do not have a full list at the moment as I’m working out the boxes that it came in ( workshop being built ) but I know that the right hand engine cowl, prop, top perspex, fuel tank (can’t remember which ) wireless set 62, EM door release handles are missing. I will try and get a full list sorted as soon as I can. The project has come with a vast amount of spares and most of the smaller hard to find parts are with it so I am very lucky really to just be looking for a small selection of hens teeth. Thanks for the interest.
Thank you very much for the replies and I will make a trip to EK soon John as its on my list but I’m busy this weekend with silage. I will PM you when I can escape and try and meet up for a gossip.
Regards
Jon
I believe VX927 is onto something as what they stole is worth very little compared to whats around the place. I bet they are stolen and on some scums fireplace.
