Yep a agree with the rest but it was an eye opener to see so many tractor fans on here. 😮

Hi there,
Well unless your going to lick the instruments I would not concern yourself too much as safe when not disturbed (glass out and blow gun about) and as for building a cockpit section well stupid it certainly is not but tough it could be! How accurate do you want it to be in there?? have you seen the size of the tubes involved? can you use a 3x and have a selection of snaps? At the end of the day its your shed and you as long as your happy I would say nuts to anyone else 😀
Hi all
Yeah she is still there and made from 3 hunters (XL578 XG290 and a mystery wing, most of the missing parts for the old girl are in my shed and when I can get my trusty forklift (air portable eager beaver) down there I shall put them on:). Was hoping to put the screens in this sunday with my friend and co-owner but see how we go as its not top of my list this year (family problems). Trying to get her looking a bit more complete then I can move the old lady to my garden where she can stand proud once again (with a lick of paint). If anyone knows of a rudder or nosecone we are in need  and some fairings around the fin but thats about it really now. Anyway please dont trespass but if you PM me i can sort something out easily (next door keeps his eye on her and is a top man for doing so) and when she is finished and moved to a safer and happier location people can come look no problems.

I believe it should be + so that water cannot sit in the spinner and form ice on cold mornings, which would kill an engine in seconds, but I can see why x would be a good idea for storage as mr woodie’s poopy would slowly kill those lovely blades! Just my thoughts anyway.
Do D H Aviation still exist?
I will look into it as getting somewhat keen to finish this machine and get another on the go 😀
Better tell the guides at BBMF then cos that’s what they told me 🙂
We must have had the same bloke, cos I was told the same:confused:
We are missing the assy back to the first frame/bulkhead but anything is a start to be honest.
Why would they have such machines?
I remember driving past the fed in a layby with a lightning cockpit overhanging on a trailer (ex A1 scrappy) behind a 4×4 and my crimper going ten to….. and another occasion arriving at a farm yard with my hunter fuse on a farm trailer when someone shouted “its off in that shed” reply was “no it aint”. Also nearly took a bus out with a CALL AIR A9 being towed backwards with the tailwheel strapped into one of those tiny tiny halfords trailers:D From these few exploits I have learned that planes get big quick when taken out of context and its cheaper to call a pro in!
Just looked at your post again, wouldn’t happen to be an oldish chap, I forget his name but he helped me out with a hunter tailplane?
I don’t have a gun but pretty much everything else, I do you use the kit now and then so is it a big job they are doing?
Will have a look and see what sizes I have, you have a 3x, snaps, blocks, rivet cutter etc etc etc
John,
Thanks for the datafile number I shall get it bought swiftly, After brief research I found it looked very simple to build a good accurate static replica. It is a bonus if there is some local connection’s to be found, Time to get the workshop cleared out and lazer cutting boy’s on standby for rib duty:D
Although if I don’t get the hunter finished I will have a very ragged off co-owner so better finish one first
Hey mate, thats a very smart little machine I knew nothing about which is a poor show to say where I live! Would be good if there were plans??? I’m rather taken by the Dh.6 as it looks a very simple build and I now have the plans now :D, Would look just the ticket outside the new barn on summers evening with BBQ on full bore. Speaking of which:diablo:
