Yes yes yes exactly the type of thing I had in mind!
Afraid not but have some of XL578 if that’s any good?
Fair point and that cowl is not out the question!
Oh that looks exactly the sort of thing I had in mind and size as it would compliment my tiger nicely and not dwarf it like the HP:eek: Also no complex curve’s etc. I keep looking at the N17 but alas don’t fancy making the cowl 😉

Hi, Yeah I fancy building something first world war as its been something of interest to me for many many years, I believe I have the skill level to build an FSM as I have been an GA engineer for a good few years. I would not want to waste tens of thousands building something that could not fly but it would be nice to do something without endless paperwork that I can crack on and enjoy (take to shows etc). You guessed correctly that I have a time ex lyc 4pot in the shed so a ground runner is not out the question. Not to worried about built to original design as long as it looks totally correct when viewed close quarters and cockpit.

Ah this all brings back memories, I spent a bit of time out there in the mid 2000s working away on an N reg and often used to watch the what looked like 25s take off, they used as much runway as a fully loaded 737 (out there fully loaded does mean jam packed) I often waited for the crash and viewed them as a tin pot crappy air force, Yep I got that wrong! Remember leaning on there 1900 while on the phone, the call ended “gotta go guns being waved about”. Anyway will upload some pics of there hind gunships out in Tindouf when I find them.
Erm,
Well its very very clear of anything to hit infact its sparse even for fenland, It does have an arrester ditch one end though!! And sounds like I maybe need a bit longer as I have a tigermoth, traumahawk to try squeeze out of it (no ppl yet mind). I understand book figures and charts etc just wondering what people do get away with! Does anyone know what a pawnee is like on the run, as I have a fancy for one I have been offered!:D
I also understand I’m in the low fuel and solo to another airfield cat, would just be handy to keep the planes at home when not in use through winter etc
Cheers Jon
