One from the HAM in Southend – apologies for the quality.
3 from the museum in istanbul back in the 90s.
This was definitely Strasbourg as I was driving home from Switzerland and I’ve not been to Faro.
The constellation in question was F-BHMJ, which was destroyed by fire in 1978. See the link below:

Great shots of some classic Italian types seldom seen here.
Thanks for that info Darren. We’re they still being flown when you were there? I know that Syrianair operated Tu154s and 134s at some time too.
No, they sat in store. Other regulars/residents on the Syrianair ramp were the 2 Falcon 20s, IL76s, TU134s and TU154s, the latter two types appeared to do less flying while I was there with the A320s taking over while the 747SPs, B727s and Yak 40s soldiered on.
Oh wow! That’s a lovely shot. I think that Syrian were one of the last, if not THE last, scheduled flag carrier to operate the Caravelle in front line service. Only too happy to be corrected on that;)
I lived in Syria from 2000-2003 and both Caravelles were still sitting at Damascus airport for that time.
At that time, things didn’t change very quickly over there. At Qamishlie near the Turkish border there were 2 DC6s in old Syrian colours and varying states of completeness. Having looked at google maps they seem long gone.
Howard500, I’ve got one from the early 80s I’ll try and dig out. In the meantime:
A complete view of the Shackleton:
As for the Gannet Pagen01, the slide is dated May 74 so it could be any time from 1973 until then so it would’ve been after a years or so of being there.
Here’s a couple more..
Found a few more in the depths of my house:
Here’s a few I took as a kid (and it shows!):
Two i missed:
This really is the final post..
Thanks for the comments. Here’s the remaining batch…
Just a few more….
