His name was on his overall. So I think ………….
BBMF can’t even make it to Sunderland air show ! Yet again the Lanc didn’t show, not that we could see it ‘cos of the fog !
last time I saw it was in 2004 !
In 2007 the Lancaster was at East Fortune.
the Leagate Inn at Coningsby is good by all accounts – 8 miles away
Yes, it’s good. Was there about 5 yeats ago.
The blog now shows a picture of T20 WG655.
Brilliant work as ever. Hard to pic(k) a winner. The picture of tail chase of the B17’s is an extraordinary shot. I like it. Further my compliments for the Yak picture. I know how difficult it is to get this one right.
By the way, its good to see that the weather at DX was good on sunday.
….. or a red rose or just a FlyPast cap?
Everything I wanted to say, has been said: You are lucky and I’m a bit jealous. But thanks for sharing these excellent pictures!!
Beautiful pictures, except the last one. I especially like the shots of PL344 and the Tiger over TD248.
Beautiful photos, Brian!
Seconded. Beautiful paint scheme and sky too!!
I’ll be there at saturday. Why not meet after the displays (everybody has time then)?
Yes, great news. Will this be the one at Legends ? (It’s already at DX)
[QUOTE=Mark V;1266008]Presumably Gliderspit was thinking more about the pressure of war and poor weather conditions under which many B-17 engines must have been changed on exposed East Anglian airfields in WWII – not an enviably task. QUOTE]
Yes, availability of components in the wartime was a lot better han these days. But facilities were not. With the FL raid in 1.5 weeks time, the Sally B team may feel similar pressure as the erks 65 years ago.
It’s good to know that there’s at least one person in the world who understands what I mean. 🙂
Congratulations. Can’t wait to see it myself.
Lets hope for the best regarding Sally B. If she doesn’t make in time, then that’s sad but at least they did their absolute best to try. Can’t demand anything else. They have my biggest respect those people.
I agree. It makes you think how the guys kept the aircraft servicable 65 years ago. That were miracles on a daily basis.
Well, it seems that you have deserved it. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
