You’ve got two – there’s one in the Musee d’Air too! That’s greedy, come on, share them out! 😀
😀 Actually we have three, the museum has two.
But still I hope EOT will grace the Belgian skies for many years to come. 😉
Did anyone take some pictures of G-APRT or other Taylor Monoplanes at the Rally??
I didn’t see APRT.. are you sure it was there?
I only saw Titch G-MOLE, no other Taylors
Nice shots
The plane is officially a Croise AC-1.
I saw it for the first time during this years RSA rally at Vichy, we were also discussing which part came from which aircraft.
While en-route back to Belgium, we stopped at Le Plessis-Belleville and there it was in the hangar. We talked to the pilot who flew it to Vichy (also the owner?) and asked him what it actually was.
The wing comes from a Cap 20 and the rest is home made.
So I have to disappoint you TM, it’s not a Taylor Monoplane. 😉
grtz
Since when has RN201 a code on its fuselage? Are these permanent?
The Belgian Trainer indead is no longer for sale. (And actually I’m glad at least one stays in Belgium)
Currently I don’t know one for sale, but you could ask some owners.
There’s G-AFVN that doesn’t fly anymore (perhaps the owner consideres to sell it??) and G-AFSC that also does not fly very often.
If you like I could give you their addresses.
So it made an emergency landing while flying from Woburn (if I understand correctly).
I think I know who the pilot was, the former Belgian owner as I saw him landing at Headcorn sunday evening.
Was it at Old Warden for the charity event this year? If it is this one i am thinking of, it made an emergancy landing due to engine problems.
It’s OO-TMW based at Headcorn since three of four months. (the one in the first picture)
Do you have more info on that emergency landing?
1. Belgian Tiger Moth. One of only two overseas registered participants.
But based at Headcorn. 😀
What was the other oversea registered one?
What do you think of a Tipsy Trainer
Nice flying, open cockpit and surely a nice classic
Nice to see a picture of the Champ included in your selection, after years of driving to PFA Rallies it was nice to finally fly into one.
Indead nice to see your Champ there. It was the first time I ever saw it.
some of my piccies
I was there the entire weekend. Indead not as many visitors as previous years (due to the weather obviously).
Though there were some interesting planes (Hurricane, Porterfield, Austers, Luscombes, …)
Sadly only one Nipper…
Still made around 500 piccies, so it wasn’t that bad.
Is that Rod Dean on the Seafire? Does he also fly it?
In Belgium, the CNVV used several Tiger Moths to tow gliders.
At Diest there is even one that’s forgotten in the hangar (OO-EVE). It is dismantled and stored.
HFL bought it, apparently it has already been transported to Duxford.
