I beleive its an Ercoupe 415CD
Ahem, It’s G-BVPP from North Weald, Pilot Chris Hudson & with a RAFAT chap in the back seat.
Thank you for the correction, apologies.
Talking to my brother the other week, he reminded me that our late father served his apprenticeship at Percivals in the 30’s. I remember him talking about working on the Gulls and the Mew Gulls. He certainly had a life long admiration for Jean Batten.

Jean wrote a book on her early flying career, ‘My Life’ published in 1938. It was revised and reissued as ‘Alone in the Sky’ in 1979.
Any truth to the rumour that the B-52 was trying to find Farnborough at the time? 😀
last seen heading out to the North Sea 🙂
wonderful stuff, thanks
Ken
The Gnat is [one of Delta Jets at Kemble: wrong] from North Weald. I can’t remember the name of the pilot, but it was the first time he’d flown with the Reds.
The Lancaster was carrying the ground crew for the Spitfire and Hurricane, so the Spitfire and Hurricane couldn’t operate out of Teeside on their own.
At Sunderland the flightline is quite far out, with the normal separation measured from the low water mark. As I didn’t want to get me feet wet I had to work at 300mm all the time (equiv to 450mm), plus a good bit of cropping.
thanks for the comments
Ken
I’ve posted some of my shots from Saturday on the Historic forum at http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?p=420616#post420616
Ken
ps the Historic forum appears to be the place to post airshow pics.

that was quick! I’m just back in the house 5 minutes ago!
A nice enough display, pity about the BBMF failing to make it but these things happen. The B52 was a bit of a surprise though. I thought the best display was the Fouga Magister; nice, gentle rolling and looping.
now to see if i have captured anything worth sharing.

They failed to make it to Sunderland today (Sat) after the Lanc went tech.
wonder why there is no discussion on the cutbacks in the modern military forum?
Yak 11 fan, they’ll want you to bring your own bullets as well.
John you are a cruel man 🙂
Suppose that it was inevitable that the Jaguar retirement would be brought forward.
