How come people have’nt opened their eyes to notice the man they voted president, has caused more trouble for the U.S than any other presidents.
Hate to disagree with you, but anyone who is over 40 (or knows anything about US history) would have to say good old liberal Democrat Lyndon Johnson…the guy that brought us deep into Vietnam, made much more trouble for the average American. Not only did he get the US into a civil war that got 58,000 Americans killed, but the outcome was the same. To compare Iraq to Vietnam is far from realistic.
Still others would say Woodrow Wilson (another liberal Democrat) getting the US into WWI was equally pointless. But at least the Europeans (okay not the Germans) liked us for it as the US reinforced their armies with enough cannon fodder to help end their stupid, pointless, war.
The other night some political commentators were on TV discussing the election.
One broght up the fact that most of Europe hates Bush and wondered why this didn’t hurt Bush at the polls.
Another gave the correct answer…the average US citizen really doesn’t care what the most Europeans think.

I don’t view what Pluto has said as “rantings” or “hate”. We are having a discussion here. People are entitled to believe in whatever they want to, but it is ok to hold a contrary view, and point out contradictions in a belief system.

I thought I made it clear I took exception to someone calling someone else’s religion “stupid”.
So presumably you would only be swayed by something from a fascist-slanted newspaper/party newsletter?
Flood
You completey distort and misquote everything I write, then have the nerve to call me a closet fascist.
****-off!!!
So much for open minds from “liberal” Europe.
USA
Germany (3 years)
Spain (3 years)
UK (2 years)
Korea (2 years)
Looks like you were in the US forces…
It is such blinkered thinking that translates into the caring sharing good old United States that is so highly regarded thoughout the world. Er…
Flood
Flood…I’m hardly “blinkered…” 😡
I’m just saying an intelligent person has to judge the source of the material before adoping it as fact. Sure, Pravda gave accurate weather forcasts, but I wouldn’t go to it to get an accurate picture of why the USSR did what it did in eartern Europe.
The article in question was an editorial…not a unbiased news report….like the weather or the fact that a plane crashed. There is a huge difference.
Your thinking reminds me of some Saudi students I knew back in University, they would say all kinds of anti-Israeli statements, and to back up their opinions would offer a blatant anti-semitic magazine. Their attitude was “If it’;s printed, it must be true.”
What about the golden tablets?…Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb…
(South park mormon reference, priceless because a friend of mine was “converted” to that devicive cult, and alienated his family)there are some fundamentalist peole in every religion/region. I know catholics in the NE that have doused their kids rooms with holy water in an effort to purify it against “Evil” they thought their kid was becoming involved in.
I’m not a Mormon or fundmentalist of any kind, but I respect people’s religions whether I greee with them or not.
Your bile-filled rantings would have been taken off this board if you attacked Islam or even the C of E.
Please don’t spread your hate here.
Yeah, these Yanks and sticking the wrong engine on things… shouldn’t be allowed.
Chipmunks had quite an aerobatics history in the states when equipped with a larger engine. Art Scholl’s “Super Chipmunk” is even in the Smithsonian.
Don’t be such a snob. 😀 Chippies are hardly rare and not particularly historic, so anything that keeps one in the air is okay by me.
This conversion is on par with what has been done to Stearmans in the UK (Utterly Butterly & Crunchie airshow teams), with bigger engines and different paint.
Andfrom an operational standpoint, orignial engines are hardly thick on the ground in the USA.
Che baby….
Quoting The Guardian is about as unbiased as quoting Michael Moore. If you want to sway some minds, you’ll have to try harder then just quoting from a long time liberal slant paper.
[QUOTE=flex297]If you consider that the company Diebold, responsible for the whole electronic election system is one of the largest and most loyal donators of the Republican Party and that Walden O’Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc. is a pretty common visitor at Bush’s ranch in Crawford, TX, the things start to appear in a new light. I mean, how do you want to keep elections secure in today’s times of people hacking even CIA or Pentagon?

Please put your wacko (and libelous) conspiracy theories somehere else…they don’t belong on the Modern Military Forum.
Conspiracy theories are the products of weak minds looking to blame others.
The fact remins Bush won because Kerry didn’t connect with the majority of Americans. And while people may have agreed with him about some parts of his platform, he was seen as a bit too liberal on social issues.
. We need objective and bipartisan news channels. I assume, you can’t really blame CNN on holding some liberal views when you have a monsterous news Tv like FOX.
How can you say ‘we need objective news’ then in the next sentence say you can’t blame CNN for being liberal.
You can’t have it both ways.

I have been to New York and lot’s of other places besides (NYC, LA, Florida all over, Little Rock Arkansas, Detroit and other parts of Michigan, way up north near Fargo).

Last time I checked, Fargo was in North Dakota.
Sounds a bit like a story a few yers ago in AFM about a USAF crew of a C-141 (or was it a KC-135??) who were found to have flown the aircraft NAKED!!! No saftey laws were apparantly breached. However, the crew were severly reprimanded as it was seen as gross unprofessionalism…
I would have thought that if the wing commander or IG office wanted to make the charges stick they could of. Somewhere there is a safety red that mandates flying crews to wear NOMEX flying gear. Not to mention boots.
There are USAF reulations (at one time called 35-10) that outline uniform wear, certainly being naked would constitute being out of uniform.
As far as the Aussies, years ago I read an occount of a very pretty wife of an artist who would get some sun by lying either topless ot in a swimsuit on a large rock near a lake. She swore that Canadian Air Force Starfighters would often fly by…very low.
My guess is the lens above and to the left of the 35mm camera are the video lens.
Given the state of the art of the time, I can’t image a combination cine/video system through one lens. By having the video lens mounted alongside the cine lens, the playback image would be close enough to tell the director (or director of cinematography) if the last shot was what he wanted.
When he talks about Jeff Hawke’s B25 camera ship he says each camera was hooked up to closed circuit television and videotaped for instant playback. This seems a great idea. Does anyone know (and I know one or two here worked on the film), did the cctv record exactly what was seen in the cinefilm camera lense, or did the cctv have a seperate lense alongside? Was it possible for a camera in those days to output from a film camera to video directly whilst also exposing the film?
In the photo section on the DVD the chap states the stills cameras were mounted alongside the film camera. That’s what made me wonder, was the video camera lense alongside too, or was it directly fed electronically from the film camera to the tape?
Having had some experience with early video systems (albeit a few years later) I’m guessing it was a seperate video camera. The tape would be great to see, but even if it hasn’t been erased, over thge yaers it would of had a loss of quality.
I wonder if it was colour? My guess is probably not. Back then colour video cameras were rather large and complex.
And remember, back then video tape was on reel to reel spools, as it was before the days of video cassettes. Operating that stuff in a flying Mitchell would have been a challenge.
My hat’s off to them.
I understand that America chose this president, he won the majority and the electoral college. Both systems work and are fair. I am not really disputing that. I am not blind with hatred of George Bush as a political leader, but he does in my view have fault in key issues for me. It comes down to the american people liking a president who represents them as a people (image wise) and makes them feel safe and happy. I must say the Republican Party does this wonderfully. I think a major factor here is the weakness of the Democratic party, which could have more of a chance of running up to par with the Republicans if they grew their power and had a true strong leader. I do not like personal insults pointed at Bush as a person, but I do not find that voicing a opposing view point in now what is a very divided nation is fair.
Very good assessment.
Now with the elction over we can turn over to more pressing issues.
We can sort out your fondness for Airbus products….:)
