Is this not a Battle of Britain film aircraft, more than likely dropping in for airshow duty static or otherwise?
I know today you can easily apply temporary schemes, I remember the Harvard Formation Team painting all the Harvards with red bulls-eyes to represent Zeros at the Biggin Hill Airfair of 1991, I also noted it took a while to loose that paint.
Norman Lees painter Spitfire XVI TE184 G-MXVI as “Fargo Express (Mark Knopfler/Alain DUCK DeCadinet) and that looked a real paint job but washed off ok.
I am sure someone more edgermacated will be along soon.

PS, in the BoB film I think they tried Fablon stick on lettering but it kept blowing off

The cops are damed if they don’t and damed if they do.
We seem to blame the cops for everything these days, after the blame we then need the obligatory public enquiry at great public expense and then after contacting the IPCC why not call them before the select committee at the houses of Parliament to be questioned before Mr Vaz. It is important that we as a nation and civilisation strive for utopia, nothing but perfection will do. I hope to be at Brenzett aerojumble this Saturday, if the weather is not to good or I can’t find the part I’m looking for then I”m going to blame the cops.

Knee jerk reactions by the Police and as said above the order of these raids a wrong, tipping off the press first must stop to protect the innocent, the Cliff Richard debacle ( I know everyone avoided mentioning it here) is going to see heads fall and rightly so, if he is guilty of something or not, this is not the way UK policing should be going, also it brings the problems in of if your letting a member of the public know of an impending raid, Press or not, it is also allowing for maybe a tip off and evidence being disposed of very quickly, this happened in the hacking scandal.

I am not police bashing, I am wanting everyone protected, victims, who can be the innocent one with their doors smashed in when as stated in other replies here it could of been a knock on the door with a EOD expert.

Red paint under the riveted joint looks very wrong to me, you would not paint a panel before the aircraft is finished, the panel looks like a re-use and had paint applied before the Balkenkreuz as you can see it underneath, reused panel so I would say FAKE !!!

Rivet holes not equal, the side has been cut with some Wizo snips

Obviously a prop, but I loved it when the pointed out the boat propeller on the bottom as coming off a seaplane, however I did not recognise this blade at all, it was a shame to split them though after someones hard work.

Don’t talk utter rot! I’ll wager you this guy will not be charged, or if charged, not convicted of anything. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty and since the Police have rather inconveniently blown-up items that they suspect were dangerous…

…they can hardly charge this guy with collecting suspected explosives, they’ll have to prove it will they not?

This will be another typically British case of the Police coming down like a ton-of-bricks on some harmless law-abiding citizen while ignoring the far more difficult job of actually chasing career-criminals.

Sorry CD, in this country now you are GUILTY till proven innocent in most cases, the police throw so much poo at cases that the poo has to be proved wrong before you end up NOT guilty.

Now in court the judge does not use the term ” beyond reasonable doubt” it is now “So that you are sure” there layeth a problem for many jurors.

Any how, I hope we see this to the end and its not left where we do not find out the outcome, which may only be if he is guilty of wrongdoings, as I have very little evidence apart from what is read here and press releases.
