I thought you were not allowed to charge (hire-reward)for rides unless the the aeroplane is on a CofA? maybe I am wrong as it has been a decade or so since I had anything to do with such.

it is sad Charlie but sometimes you have to let go. I think a good move on his behalf, an expensive machine to have sitting on the ground.

As they are a 1950’s aeroplane I would proceed with caution, you may find an asbestos ( ROPE ) in areas of firewalls.
I do not know if it exists on this type but the rope looks like this below.

A good way to deal with it is make sure you keep it wet if removing or use a PVA solution to encapsulate it.

Hi all, I’ve just completed the rebuild of a Seafire FR5 at Airframe assemblies. See our facebook page for photo’s. I believe the serial no is SR 462. It is going to the USA, Ozark hangar I think.

It is a shame you do not have a website or post updates here the same as Mathias Dorst in Germany. I cannot stand FaceBook myself but that is just me I would think

Amazing how you could fit two people in that cockpit!

Maybe take a fuel tank out?

Lucky escape there by the looks of that field !!
