Having had a quick Google I’ve established that “DW-A” is/was:
VX281
D-CACO
G-BCOW
N281L
G-RNHF
c/n ES.3615I”MW-S” was another aircraft altogether (I think) ex VX302 – photos taken at Old Warden although it was one imported from Germany by Doug Arnold.
G-BCOW was sold to Spencer Flack so prob the same airframe
Doug Arnold aka Fairoaks aviation / Warbirds of GB had 4 seafury TT20
G-BCKG ES8509
G-BCKH ES8502
G-BCOV ES3613
G-BCOW ES3615
Ahhhhh them was the days as a young lad asking Stewart Marshal the airport manager if we could visit the hangers and being given a lift down in the roller by Mr A despite the protests from Reg in the tower that he was not giving way to aircraft 🙂
The reason why he had a new roller every year was the fact they were never designed to run on 100LL which he used to fill up on 😉
Thanks for this thread you brought back many happy memories from my late teens early twenties
Cracking shots Anna, are you sure you not photoshopped the back grounds, blue skys at duxford unheard of pmsl xxx
Have you considered either Culdrose or Dawlish as they are near to home.
I guess its all down to your taste in airshow as most wonderfully put by Moggie. Shuttlworth is the most relaxed even my wife who is a avid airshow hater enjoyed it!!! If you want Modern and Military rather than the annual bun fight that is RIAT Fairford, Waddington is IMHO just as good and quite often more varid.
Just my 2 euro worth!!
Good luck

Rather good piccies Anna, you have been practising again 😉
Top drawer stuff there.
I prefer 2 and 4 (Because the pilot is visible / recognisable)So, on your way home you just happened upon a rescue practice? Or Were they just picking him up from the Golf (It has been known!)
Deff not a jolly… i was hoping to catch the 212 just doing confined training so the winching / medivac training was a bonus. 🙂
Hi Baz,
Sorry to hear that the bang seat issue is dragging on… Hopeing to see the BA11 and the Andover flying again before they are replaced.

Wow was that Firecat once a Tracker? Never seen one before, and didnt even know they came to the UK!
Yes your quite right the firecat started life as a Tracker but converted by Conair for forest fire fighting and changing the PW radial engines for the the turbo props.
They are very rare visitors to the UK and Phil has been trying to get one to the photoshoot for several years now and so it’s arrival was testiment to Phil and Lee’s hard work.
Anna thanks for the kind comment.
Cheers Cliff
