    The photos show off the slightly swept wing, which (correct me if I”m wrong) was an attempt to correct a CofG design defect.

    He didn’t say anything about the Peregrines and if they were as unreliable as made out to be?

    Hey Don,

    I got my wires crossed a little. Howard Hughes received an Me-262 and was going to enter it into the air races against the P-80’s but was denied as not being sportsman like. Hughes didn’t actually fly it but this was the same one you mentioned.

    Didn’t Howard Hughes have one and flew it against the F-80 Shooting Star in the US just after the war ? Apparently it embarrassed the Lockheed aircraft…

    And our Herks still operate everywhere, incl Afghanistan in a UN capacity, so our AIr Force is still going strong, albeit in a non-cambatant role.

    Ms Clarke gets to fly to “important” meetings in one of the two 757’s, can’t forget that…. :rolleyes:

    Yes, the Camel has that 180 decibel lawnmower noise thing going !!!

    Oh yes, that movie is awesome !!!
    Jimmy Stewart was a superb actor, and as John says there is everything you need to know about Glenn Miller in that movie.
