Hi Turbo.
Short answer from a non pilot; there’ll be more from others more knowlegeable than me I’m sure. Very similar, some ‘British’ style systems (i.e. odd/bad design!) not a big performer.

Glad there were no Zeros up when we were. 😉

Ah most of the Zeros you’d encounter would be travelling back from a bombing mission at Pearl Harbour in 1970…so you’d be able to nearly outrun them…. 😮 😀

Is that long shaft in the foreground the engine driveshaft ? To my uneducated eye, looks like one. The main wing section looks reasonable.

The introduction looks like wartime authentic with a veteran voice-over going through the cockpit drills.

Amazing footage, the scene with the P-47 back at base with the huge hole in the wing is unreal !!
