I remember how excited I was at 16 to be going to the movies to watch it for the first time. Today it looks corny and cheesy but the flying scenes are still spectacular.

IIRC – the Navy let the production film 1 missle firing from an F-14 and they used it a few times (reversing etc).

Now, the F-14 ?
A beautiful beast and definitely a classic warbird in years to come.

You’d be thinking of the Martin Seamaster, beautiful aircraft that had structual problems as well as massive cost overruns so never made it.

This is the type that I was telling you about a while ago that I’m seriously considering building myself.
