I’d love to see a pic of the Super-Sabre one, if you can ?

ha ha,….I have a fair idea of what flies at the Wanaka Airshows…
Hmm,…sponsorship would be fairly……PRICEY !!!!! :diablo:
Didn’t the (Centaurus – Bahgdad) Sea-Fury fly over to you guys for an airshow or was that for good ??
TNZ
Great pics,…the B-25 one really accentuates the inverted gull shape.

Welcome Wade (great name, my middle one’s is Wade)

Thats quite an impressive list you’ve got there, Setter.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a combined Oz/Kiwi airshow.
Think of the combined aircraft you could have 😮

a little bit of movie trivia…..
The scene where Wild Bill Kelso slips and tumbles off of the wing of his airplane as he is about to take off was a real accident. John Belushi slipped as he was climbing into the plane. It was kept in the movie because it fit his character.

Well done !!!
This is a superb !!
I once shouted my Granddad a flight in a Pitts Special for his birthday.
You’re right in saying words can’t describe emotions that come out from this sort of gift.

wow, excellent stuff….if you had trouble spotting them, then the camo’s working well init ?… 😉
Just ask a Taleban rebel….
Excellent pic !!!
Is that a shot from today, Damien ?
If you would settle for 6 x 4360’s and no jets then the XC-99 would be an interesting suggestion. It could be the Flypast forum travel club’s transport.
This would definatlely beat any current airliner seating arrangement!!!
Now that would be the ultimate in airshow acts, unless someone is building a Brabazon or Saro Princess in their backyard somewhere!T J
Thanks for the great pics.
Pity the XC-99 never made it out of prototype stage. I believe it is quite derilect now which is really sad.

wow,…I’d love them, but postage could be a hassle.
Pity.

If you want a good “private publication” read, I can recommend “GeTaWay” by Gordon Thompson Woodroofe, since deceased. Soft-covered with 320pp. He was the only Kiwi airman to escape from a PoW camp.
Copies are still available from his widow so drop me a line if you are interested in obtaining a copy and I will dig out her contact details.
Tony
I see a copy is available here at the Welly Library.
I’ve been looking for a good book to read after “Tiger Moths and Butterflies”
Thanks, might go grab it tomorrow

ah,…but imagine the noise of the 6 x R4360’s and 4 x J47’s making at an airshow.
Break every window at and nearby Legends…… :D:D:D

I reckon they should get a B-36 Peacemaker from the States and get that going.
Now THAT would be a spectacle !!!!
I know it can never happen….. 🙁

Wasn’t Tallman also badly injured in the crash of the original “Phoenix” that killed Paul Mantz ?
