There was a lot of accidents in those early years too as pilots pushed the old aircraft to their limits (and often past them)

Man, that would be a fun job, flying an avenger low over the country side,…legally !!

And to further point out,…we also used DC-3’s once upon a time too for this !!!!

They are very Fugley aircraft ay !!!!:D

Apparently the Crescos are very different to the FU-24 Fletchers that they get confused with.
    They look similar to me.

The pics look interesting. Looks like, judging by the markings, its another BOB film.

umm,…what’s the saying again that’s like…oink, oink, flap, flap..

Without wanting to hijack this thread (sorry, Dave) I seem to remember in the ’70’s they tried to refly this beast. Got it airworthy and at the last minute the FAA pulled the plug on it flying due to the concern that it might be used as a nuclear bomber….
    mmmm…

    Mine is the ….B-36 Peacemaker.

Just to see one of those thunder into the air again…like…WOW

I thought the love triangle bit has shades of Pearl Harbour….totally unnecessary.

The low-level flying of the Spit especially on the train attack was REALLY impressive though.

I enjoyed it. I didn’t look to hard into it. It’s not in the same league as a documentary style movie like BOB but good all the same.

Amazing to think they only used two flying Spitfires in the movie….all the rest were CGI or taxi-ing full-sized models.
    That part was good.

Just dunno what those biplanes were ????

Truly unbelievable what that “PM” has done to Wigram’s heritage.:(

Getting back to the displays..the old 727 streaking across the runway at the last Wanaka airshow was quite stunning too. Didn’t know the old girl could go THAT fast, THAT low..!!!:D
