Nope google
Well yes she’ll could only super-cruise ( ie without the burners lit) at M 1.7 instead of the normal M 1.9 — M2.0 ….. They were fitted not to extend the range in this case but to increase the radar signature for the foxhunter trials on the F3 Tornado..
One extra thing the front of the tank could be remove and air-to-surface rockets fitted.
The two T birds XS452 is now in SA flying
The other is still there we Tony
one Lightning Both with overwing fuel tanks
try these
I like you’ll all find the the tanks were unable to be jettioned !! But there is a explosive vale at the rear to dump the fuel in the tank. That was the case on XP693 XR773 when i was involved in removing there tanks at Exeter
The pic shows XR773 wing, if you look at the wing the red circle is were the anks eas bolted to the wing. The two sq patches one in front and one at the rear are for air-in and fuel-out
infrared sensors thats what they are.
The Swiss Hunter were highly moded beast’s some were sidewinder capable some were maverick capable (with the TV creen in the cockpit), loads of lumps and bumps and not forgetting the extra hard points in front of the wheel bays(a real b*****d when you forgot about them when walking under the wing wheres the first-aid kit lol)
Both Hunters are possible flyers fancy a MK9 on the airshow circuit!!!!!!!
Hi all
Got one for you all
Say they got the money and the CAA let them fly her.
What about the operating costs? I know a Hunter cost £1500/hour at the moment, the shows pick that up, and they get it from the gate.
Would everybody pay a extra £10-15 per show just because she’s there?????
