I can remember one year, someone displaying (and i think it was a USAF lol) at Ringways (Manchester Airport) instead of Woodford 5 miles down the road. Now that must have been FUN !!!!!!!

Mark12 is not a question of “far too Complex” its more a question of redundant system. If theres a loss of hydraulic the jets in the ground. Thats why the CAA hav’nt let aircarft like the Lightning, Bucc fly

Yep same here it should be no longer a sticky item, with no disrespect to crew and family.

It should discussed when the report is published

Both Phantom were used as BDR before MAM got there hands on them. The first Phantom is in a good condition with the paint has a lot of BDR patches. As for the second one she was used to a degree as a spares ship for the first. BDR patches can be seen on the second better. But it has been said at MAM she may go on a pole outside the Museum when/if the cash become avaible.
MAM do a very go job looking after there A/C with limited cash and staff, I think itstaken 2/3 years to get the money together so they can do the Vulcan for E.G.

    Hunters

There should hopefully be 3 Hunters going to Coventry with departure from Coventry on Sat and Sun (with Arrs and Deps on Friday and Monday) so Coventry should become a busy Hunter base for the weekend. P.S. All 3 should be coming from Exeter See http://www.hunterflyingclub.co.uk

    RE: Hours on type

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-04-02 AT 09:41 PM (GMT)]I am not aware of a mim hours on type, But if the pilot is current on type and has submitted a acceptable CV ( history of flying all types and hours)to the CAA and has a DA(display approval) on type he’s clear !!!!
To get current on type (in the RAF fast jet) your looking at a mim of 2 to 3 hours !!!!! DA could be just one flight away after that.

BUT I do’nt think any operator would let a pilot with 2/3 hours display. operator normally go for the most experienced they can get, hence there are not a lot of display pilots around. Some may fly 2/3 differant type at a show.
