Yes. They’re bl00dy annoying.
Last night, just as I was settling down to a large curry, the phone rang.
It was a recorded message, played at God-knows how many decibels… I hung up.
I frequently get “real” sales people too. Usually for mortgages, or those loan management scams – I mean, “offers” – I just tell them I do not have credit cards or loans (true) or a mortgage.
If they don’t tell me what they’re selling, I just keep asking them, “What are you selling?” until they either give up and hang up, or I give up and tell them to sod off. Except I don’t say “sod.”
Thanks Steve – I will be taking a look at that site. Although I do take some perverse pleasure in telling those telesales people to get lost.

Natural selection at work. They keep doing things like that and they won’t be around much longer…
I hate to think what a driver would feel, knowing (or even believing) that he had killed someone. I know one driver (now retired) who, while travelling at speed on the ECML, had the misfortune to encounter a suicide.
I hope never to hear such a story as that driver told ever again.
I have every sympathy for those drivers who have been affected by such actions.
I have no sympathy for those who lose their lives through such stupidity.
People who do not know how to behave when confronted by a red light should not be on the roads…

… Here’s hoping they find an intact Stirling or Manchester!
Or a Whitley…
Any Hampdens or Herefords lost over there?
Its a shame that the “Operation Harvest” film is mired in copyright issues as I’m sure that there would be a ready market for a DVD of this footage starting with me.
Count me in, too! 🙂

Interesting article…
Two of my favourite subjects – Wildlife and aviation archaeology.
Thanks for posting.
Re DV202 – As Cees said, the crew are not technically missing, as their grave site is known.
It is utterly deplorable that the MoD persist with the policy of “leave them where they fell” when, like another certain BoB airman, the remains are recoverable. These lads, IMO, deserve a proper burial.
Interesting photos of the remains of Kee Bird…
I VT’ed the documentary when it was first aired – It was the first, and only, time I have watched it.
An amazing recovery, but something inside me says that the loss could have been prevented.
That said, Darryl Greenmayer and crew were very lucky to get out unscathed.

Up until a few years ago, a neighbour was using several canopies as cloches.
Can’t remember what they were from though…

I thought my “hangar” was crowded… 😮
Looking for some (cheap) glass fronted cabinets to keep dust, small hands and paws away from them. Any ideas?
Quite an impressive collection, Peter. Dusting them is a pain, isn’t it?!:D

Blimey – Are those “Commando” books still being published? 😮
I used to love reading those when I was younger – In fact, I’ve recently found a box of them in the loft…!
Currently reading Nottinghamshire Air Crashes by David Needham.
Plus, various back issues of Railway Modeller. I need inspiration for my project. Again.

Slightly o/t, but does anyone know the effective range of this type of equipment?
Thanks,
Don
It is certainly a lovely piece of work. Let us hope it finds a good home.
I’m saying nothing about the reporter’s aircraft recognition skills, except that my partner’s 7-year-old grandson can tell the difference between a Lanc and Halibag…
