Today, the things that ground my gears were mainly MH017-related.
Firstly, there were people posting very graphic images of the wreckage of 9M-MRD, complete with bodies.
Secondly, the conspiracy theorist muppets are already at it; some of those idiots making all kinds of ludicrous claims, from it was a Jewish-ordered shootdown, designed to divert media attention from the goings-on in Palestine and Gaza (Odd that, as my local news channels are still covering this story in some depth.), to claims that the shot-down 777 is in fact 9M-MRO/ MH370.
I give in…
1st – Story in the STAR…
2nd – Again the STAR…
3rd – You guessed it the STAR!
Easy one this – Don’t buy or read The Star. :p
Last one saved it for last.
Where else would it go?! π
Definitely not from a Supermarine Walrus! π
The part number will (should) be stamped in the “channel” of that geodetic, either toward the end, or in the centre.
Those top bits are definitely Wellington or Warwick geodetic. There will be part numbers on those, towards the ends…
The other part is the patch that was rivetted on Amelia Earhart’s Electra. I have already e-mailed TIGGER.
(Joking aside, there may be a number on that too.)
Critters Remove Ameliaβs Body and Secrete?
Wasn’t me, Guv’nor…
TIGHAR pop up again now with added crap!
Michael, regarding your misreading of the title – The words “nail” squarely” and “head” immediately spring to mind! :eagerness:
When I read the thread title, I immediately thought, “Sp*tf*re…” :highly_amused:
There is a sign on my front door, which reads:
“NO free newspapers and NO junk mail”
I caught the postie shoving a copy through my letterbox the other day. I politely indicated the sign (it has been there for at least 3 years), and handed back the copy of The Scum. His face was a picture.
Despicable, right-wing rag.
Great shots, Tony! :eagerness:
To avoid any hassle, my partner dropped me off at the W end, where I climbed the bank, and got some good shots of both the ‘225 and C-130.
While he was away, I spoke to a Parking Enforcement Officer. He stated that “we wouldn’t normally bother ticketing cars here, but at the moment we are due to the Download festival.”
We then made our way to the opposite end and awaited Mriya’s departure. Got a few decent shots, but I doubt if they are as good as yours!
That will explain Everyman and his dog sitting on the bank at the end of the runway with the kids π as I headed home
Was that down the A453?
We parked there for a few minutes, and then we noticed that the local Plod had slapped parking tickets on several cars…
In the end, we went to Kegworth Cemetery (only a couple of people there), where I got a few good shots of the ‘225 overflying the memorial to BD092.
I shall be back there tomorrow, early. This time I shall be on my mountain bike.
Look out for a balding, middle-aged man in Lycra; I don’t bite, so if you see me, feel free to say “Hi!” π
Or, you could ask a little closer to home… ;);) *raises hand*
I was saddened to learn of Stephen’s passing this morning.
Sitting in my vehicle, I shed a tear for this remarkable lad, who I didn’t know, but has touched my life, and the lives of countless others.
Rest In Peace, Stephen.
You achieved more in the few short years you were on this Earth than most of us do in a lifetime.
You were, and will continue to be, an inspiration to so many. You will never be forgotten.
God Speed, young man.
Fc*king TV ads.
You know why – They are usually at a volume level 2 or 3 times that of the programme that they interrupt.
For that reason, I tend to record programmes on ITV, etc. on the trusty PVR, then I can skip through the shoite ads at my leisure.
…YOU are THE nice white van man–i heard the myths of there being one and he is here π .
Actually, there are two “nice” white van men – I am the other one. π
Someone from Nottingham ‘expresses’ their opinion! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-27242557 π
Shouldn’t that have read “eggspresses”? :highly_amused:
And before anyone asks, it wasn’t me who lobbed the egg at Farage. More’s the pity…
Great work, Kev!
The Merkava’s weathering, and the camo on the Royal Marine’s uniform are terrific.
Painting faces is not a part of modelling I look forward to either… The face is looking good, a very convincing flesh tone.
What paint are you using?
Hot on the heels of this “story” came an e-mail from a well-known (to me) conspiracy theorist nut-job on this very subject…
It was the same pillock who has e-mailed me regarding the so-called “Howden Moor Incident” only this latest e-mail was from a different address, but still signed with the same name.
