I’m glad you remember it the way I do Bruce!
Historic Flying was started around the 1988/89 time frame by Tim Routsis, Dad and Ian Warren. Karel Bos didn’t come onto the scene until around 1997, but I guess, as Bruce said, the press only print what they are told…

James – You could have posted a picture of me smiling 🙂
Yes, it is Gunter Rall in Jeep 2
Glenn
Not yet…
From pictures already posted on various websites, I can say it is dark earth and dark green on the upper surfaces and sky underneath.
For the rest, you’ll have to wait…

Mum and Dad are planning on finishing the fabric on the HAC Hurricane today…
Glenn
I had those as a present last year…
It’s good chocolate too.

It was F-BEEA that was destroyed at Binbrook.
Glenn
Yes he did…

I didn’t know that I’d be doing it until the end of the day. They were supposed to fly with some one else, but couldn’t for some reason so the museum asked me to do it.
The original plan was for him to do his bit standing in front of the Cub with the engine running. He would then jump in the front seat and we would go. After doing a “dry run” they decided that it was too difficult to get in gracefully and in one take so he stayed put in the cockpit and did it all from there.
It was a bit of fun for the 17th of December.

I’ve just seen the trailer for tonight’s Inside Out and there was no flying. There was something about preserving achieve film. I guess that could be related.
I’ll watch and see.

The BBMF have used Harvards to train the fighter pilots in the past. Dad checked out one of the pilots a few years ago. I think it was Dave Gilmor’s SNJ they used.

Chris,
How is the Hurricane coming along?
Glenn
Thanks for the confirmation… 🙂
Which end is the conservation area planned to be? I know it is the front end of the hangar, but the plans do not really show which end is intended to be the front.
Thanks
Glenn
In the early draft plans, the Victor was placed in the conservation area of the hangar. The planned layout does not look any bigger than the existing footprint of Hangar 1 so has the “conservation” area been excluded from this layout?
The website still states that
visitors will be able to view this vital conservation and restoration work taking place
so I guess this area will be planned later on.

These aircraft you generally solo from the rear seat, so that is where the student sits…
