I’m so envious of you guys, panels are near impossible to come across in the land down under! One day maybe!
Lets hope the Museum opens up some of the stored gems that never see the day of light! One thing that really bugs me about the RAAF Museum is great planes but many rusting away in the salty environment and many that people will never see because of lack of space, almost puts me going off going there!
I think Doug needs to give um Spitfire owning and maybe look at something a little easier to fly Harvard maybe? Glad he’s ok though.
God from far but far from good! As for the lanc looks like a Aussie one with the Kangaroo on it whats is story?
Beaufighter, that is the Boston, someone else stated was Big Nig. Hopefully the spitfire is a Mk 5c or Mk 8. Something that is representative of what flew in Oz.
G’day all,
I’m looking at getting into aircraft panels, but I have a problem, I live in Australia, and guess what they are hard to come by in OZ. SO can anyone help me out here, I’d like to have a British or American jet, I have a limited budget, so I guess I need some guidance from you guys. Can anyone help me?
The flying Belfast is still doing well here in Oz, I hope we get two of them down here though.
As its an ex Aussie Beau, I wish someone here could buy her and bring her HOME!
As much as I wish I has the money myself, I would love to see a project like this donated to the RAAF Museum so they could finish it as the one and only RAAF Hurricane V7476. Oh well one day it may happen.
Hello Davesoda
This is currently on its way to Melb, if interested you are more than welcome to come and have a look when it arrives.
Cheers Paul
Paul, has your Jag arrived yet, if so any chance of a look see? Looks great by the way!
Mark is there any hope to getting the nose/cockpit from Camden? And please mate do the old girl two things, start a campaign with the local council/government to give you guys some more room and a HUGE hanger. And please finish her as a Mk 31 long nose RAAF bird. That would do her justice.
A couple of other questions for you too,
Any more update re the Lancaster remains and where she might end up? Oh and do you have any pics of her currently?
And any word on any other parts for the Lincoln, engines etc……
Correction, Australia has lots of cockpits – problem is they’re all attached to the rest of the aeroplane :diablo: :diablo: :diablo:
Roger Smith.
Ha Ha HA very funny smrt ****!!
Just wish someone had of posted my previous comment so I could have thought of that line!!:D 😀
Erm….. oh…… ahh…… does anybody have any Gnat bits please ?
And does anybody want a Chipmunk cockpit ? I need the room !!
:diablo:
.
Out of curiosity what is a chipmunk cockpit worth? God I want to buy a cockpit but Australia just doesn’t have any!
Hi Dave
I have also recently been looking for a cockpit, what is your budget? I have seen everything from a $250 Wirraway cockpit (if you could call it that) up to tens of thousands of dollars. I think you would need to spend at least AUD10,000 to get something decent/complete into Australia because the shipping is so high.
Cheers
Paul
Paul,
I’ll be honest $10 grand is more than I can afford!! I’m not that wealthy! $250 for a Wirraway? where? Is it still avilable? Yeah I agree on the cost think here in OZ it sucks huh? Oh well maybe someone or something will turn a cockpit up one day!
Dave
I’d love to rescue those old Canberra’s, but I think that they will end up as scrap eventually, the owner doesn’t care for them at all!!
