Is there a shelf life on them?

Will there be a day when engines will not be started due to a lack of carts?

    Baz

Well there’s always the option of converting to electric start, or even air start as we are experimenting with our Hunter engine, which is arguably safer as it is easier to control as once you have fired the cartridge you are commited.

    Hi Rob,

Thank you very much for the reply! Incredibly interesting! So it will transmit to other sets using nothing more than this board?

I beleive that it does work, I almost regret having to sell it however I’d rather it went to a good home where it will be enjoyed rather than sitting on my shelf gathering dust!

Where would you personally value this as well?

    Kind Regards

    Tom

Personally, as a 17 year old currently going through officer training, I was inspired by visits to museums around the country to join up, and I think that the re-enactors give the place a much more realistic feel… especially on the night runs, it brings the place to life, and the whole place has an atmosphere.

    Just my thoughts.

Thanks everyone! It’s been a long, hard slog to get to where we are now, but we couldn’t have done it without everyone else’s support and help!

The goal IS to get it fast taxiing, however this will not be happening on the 30th as we need to progressivly increase the speed of the aircraft and sort the problems that may pop up along the way (such as getting a test set for the pitot and static system etc.)

And the pilots for the day were Mick and Neil from Scampton, so all credit to them for ‘driving’ 😀

Yep, I can confirm this as I was in the cockpit at the time! 😀
I’m going to upload the video online as soon as i find time! Almost no faults at all whilst testing, I think you may just be seeing her taxi on the 30th! Not a fast taxi, just figure of eights or an engine run.

The Iskra was sprayed yesterday, by Matt Walton. It had the full package (Etch primer, primer, base layer, top coat).

    It’s turned out fantastic!

All credit for the paint job to the Waltons, who’ve done a superb job 🙂

Would you happen to know if the Hunter uses a valve type amp. or is it the transistors?

And are they type particular, for example if you put a transistor type into an older aircraft, would it work?

    Thanks,

    Tom

    The Hunter- 😉
by Alphasim, decent VC, even if it isn’t realistic….
But in real life, sat on the end of the runway fully fueled with the drop tanks on, it could get to Malta without stopping.
I think the model has autopilot, even though the actual aircraft didn’t… you’ll have to check that though.

    Ritch and Max,
Sad to lose you both, I hope you will pay us some visits occasionally.
(especially when we get the two seater Hunter running ;))
    All the best,

Thanks for the responces. I will contact the RAFM, as Duxford have seemed slightly reluctant to let us in the Victor in the past- I beleive due to health and safety.
