For any Goodies fans (and those of us who DON’T have it on tape), some short clips here. Wonderful stuff.

Go on then Daz – post ’em up!
Who mentioned The Goodies! Must-see telly! Haven’t seen it in years. About time UK Gold ran it again for those of us who can remember it from time around! Michael Bentine’s Potty Time is worth another look too. Have just found this: http://www.thechestnut.com/potty.htm
Brings back some memories. That and Hendon and Old Warden in the seventies. Always sunny and happy days.

£25,000
Ouch!!!!!!
Ouch indeed. Buyer collects, I presume. If the spare engine is the one in the photos then it’s probably not worth more than £2.50, giben the amount it would cost to restore it just to display condition. The aircraft itself might weigh less if the moss was jet washed off it too. What is the reason for the sale? If it’s one of those whereby the site owners want shut of it, then will the aircraft become one of those which are bought with very good intentions and then funds run out, or will it become a scrapper? Be such a shame. Mind you, twenty-five grand seems an awful lot of anyone’s pocket money.
And I should have followed the link on the first post before I put this one up! I’ll read the question in future! DOH! Sorry.

By all accounts you can get VERY close to it! Found these on another airfield researcher’s site taken very recently.
A few of the memorial at Catfoss (Feb this year). We drove straight past this twice as, despite the fact it’s next to the road which skirts the site, it looks for all the world like an industrial/builders merchant’s site entrance – which it is.
This one. The RAC one needs the 60 white victory bars added to the rudder though 😉
A cosmetic adornment for later, perhaps?
Drossel, thanks for the compliment. It wasn’t meant to be a plug for the site though! Cheers. C.
Here’s a shot of the Buchon I took on the 7th May, NOT flying but looking very good indeed (apart from the lack of cowlings!): http://airfieldarchaeology.fotopic.net/p28953267.html
Only photo i’ve seen of it is on here, states the Fw 189 as in Germany though http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com/Luftwaffe/fockewulf/rarefockewulf.htm
That’s one of them – there were others.
One of the links to what appears to be a now defunct site is here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/airnet/aircraftcf.html#F. MInd you, that probably won’t help!
Actually, if you read the entry closely on ‘Preserved Axis Aircraft’ it is British-registered and is indeed owned by Jim Pearce. Which begs the question, is some (all) of it back in this country after restoration work in Germany?
fw189
Wasn’t there a website outlining this project at some point? A lot of Googling has produced nothing more than error 404’s or dud links from other web sites, despite a search query of FW189+restoration+society or combinations thereof.
Ideas? I seem to remeber ther being some quality photos on it.
A couple from last year: Faldingworth. The memorial, according to the local game keeper who was adivising us where to go so as NOT to be shot at by the grouse-shoot that was occuring, is designed to represent Lincoln Cathedral. Seems to work. Around the base are a number of inscription with a variety of aircraft serial numbers. This memorial is at the ENE head of the main runway.
S**t on a stick – that’s what I call a memorial!
Carpetbagger – your comments about the extant buildings comes as no surprise though!
