    Regarding Submarine Incident:

China urges calm after Japan demands apology for submarine intrusion
    http://www.spacewar.com/2004/041113100032.o4jk9abv.html
China on Saturday urged Japan to stay calm in solving
bilateral disputes a day after Tokyo demanded an apology for the intrusion
of a Chinese nuclear submarine into Japanese waters.

    Comments:

And, the Imperial Japanese Army’s incursion into the whole of Asia
and its sneak attack at Pearl? Shouldn’t Japan apoligize for that as well???
Besides, that sub could belong to anyone. Here’s some suspicions:

    – covert Taiwanese aquisitions enroute to home base in Island of Taiwan
    – classified Russian inteligence gathering mission (monitoring of US-Japan excercise)
    – possibly, even vessels of the USN because of North Korean nuke issues

I mean why would the Chinese need to dispatch
their prized Han’s for something like Japan when their expendable Ming’s is more
than sufficient to handle any crises in the region???

    .

    1. “i do not see the need to apologise for what my father or my great grandfather did, i only apologise for what i’m responsable for or the people under my supervision”.
Umm will china ever apologise for trying to flood the economic market with illegally copied rubish?

    2. Hans are very easy to track subs, with a very loud and distinctive sound, there are sub screwsounds databases available that can pinpoint what sub it was, discussion on the type is almost ruled out, the US navy could tell you in a minute what type and even what hull it was if needed, i don’t think there is alot of guessing in that area.

France is negotiating to join the UK’s 60KT carrier program. it would solve the french problem with the costly nuke plant on de-gaulle and reduce the unit cost also.

not really, since most of CDG’s cost was devellopment cost!, which you really just trow to waist by not building a second one

a nuclear carier still outranks a conventional one on all aspects

first china nor india is a worldpower at this point, if they want a beating ala irak they can get it, they both have 0 global reach and are still 20 years behind in technology

Second if my enemy is using my allie his communication devices and my allie is knowingly letting them, then he is my enemy also (so far for military logic), and i agree with this completely.

Europe has become a weak crawling negotiator that doesn’t have the guts to take a stand, it’s divided into every event and it’s unity that makes strenght, not diversity, the country’s still think nationalistic and the EU council is way to big to take any strategic decisions in a crisis.

As in every natural way, there can be only 1 leader, and humans will fight each other indefinately to be that leader. And the more humans habit this small planet the more fighting will erupt.

well considering the us navy outgunned the yamato 10-1 in number of battle ships when it went suicidal, i’d say it’s pretty obvious yamato would always have lost

there is little known about the accuracy of the 18 inch guns of the yamato, or it’s manouvrability in combat, so anybody know where to get it?

2000 is not stable, the core has too manny loops and instabilities to be used in a combat system, we use it only for non sensitive/reliable things, but all servers here are unix/linux

i don’t see why OS X couldn’t have been used, it doesn’t crash, never seen one go down yet, unlike w2K.

owel look at teh bright side a new vacancy will come on each ship, a “reboot officer” and a “bluescreen wiper”

it’s has to be a joke!! i mean windows???? come on, every admin on the planet will tell you NOT to use windows on anything sensitive that has to be reliable 24/7/52. At least use 2003 then……

Well the cold war is over, move out of there and let the people back in their home 🙂

unfortunately war isn’t over yet and this base is crusial for fast global transit.

people can live somewhere else besides on this tiny atoll, people need to do some self-reflection.

a b 747 sticks out on a radar like a elephant on a road, you can’t hide it,

jammers? i doubt they are sophisticated enough to stop the latest US hardware

it will never get even close to a carrier BG, the iranian will have to throw in their entire airforce, which is then open war…

and then even if they succeed, B2’s start taking of from whiteman…with less healthy cruisemissiles then your avarage tomahawk and you’ll find teheran only in a history book afterwards

    your car doesn’t cost 600.000$ 😀

still a expensive missile, especially since this is no radical new design, just an upgraded version, off course it’s better the a million+ for the block III

the F22 will have deep strike ability in the future, i suspect more then the number that is mentioned will be procured when the need arrises

there is also still teh study going on over a f22 strike variant, we’ll see what that brings out

as for being challenged by flankers, i don’t see this as a problem, very few nations have the latst version of the flanker, US missiles and technology still has the edge over russian.
With modern warfare very few dogfights will be carried out in a new war.

contracts were signed, cancelling contracts means paying……

besides what’s 90 million pounds in avaition terms? pocket change?

the british need a bookkeeper and a cost accountant.

the gun should never have been deleted in the first place, a stricter develpment cost controll is what they need, not trying to tidy up afterwards
