I was lucky enough to catch the Piaggio at Glenrothes this afternoon, here’s the set of eleven photos that I posted onto my Flickr site.

I wish that I could have captured the noise, it was incredible.

I have now watched the Channel Five documentary.

Strange, I came down to Yorkshire for Brian’s funeral and he never mentioned anything about the arrest.

Anyway, I don’t feel bitter about knowing him, some obviously do but I don’t. He was a trader in aviation bits, he had an extensive aircraft collection and he has lost the lot through his own stupidity.

He was totally out of order and that kind of behaviour can never, ever be condoned.

I knew Ken, also his late brother and mother for many years, It was in his character not to suffer fools gladly and you could call him a straight talking Yorkshireman, certainly he never done me wrong.

I have to admit that I too became one of those fools that he failed to suffer but one thing for sure he had amassed fantastic collection of aircraft, relics and memorabilia, which was a major part of his eventual downfall as I believe that firearms offences formed a major part of his prison sentence.

One thing that I was not party to was his neighbour troubles, I knew, some twenty odd years ago that he had them and of the subsequent one that brought matters to a head and for that he could only be described, mildly as a stupid idiot.

The joys of being a museum volunteer, something that I have not been able to do since Strathallan folded. I really miss the buzz of helping out.

Yes, I suppose factoring in the cost of the fuel it is probably worth the money.

I’ll put the YAM web site on my watch list for a night shoot some other time, I pinned my hopes on another museum, which has disappointed me.

    Thanks.

I’m curious to know if you think it was worth the money?
I would like to attend one of these night shoots myself but wonder whether it’s worth paying so much for the privilege.

I like the way you were thinking about the Gannet shadow.
A nice set of photos and a great way to end the year in style.

The Bolingbroke will be displayed in all over Canadian training yellow, much to the disappointment of some who want the black stripes of the target tug aircraft.
I believe that the Tiger Moth, Ikarus and the Auster will be displayed in Chambers Street in due course.

The Tiger Moth has had a new coat of paint and the Beech 18 and or the Dove has received a little bit or tarting up.

The Civil Aircraft hangar will be renovated, receiving new cladding on the doors and much needed improvements to the floor.

I suppose one can see beauty in everything and the Cold war Museum Hall is one such building.

Personally, it is a much better building to look at than a squat black utilitarian building such as a T2 hangar.
It does allow the public to get up close to a lot of aircraft, that they may not have at other places.

I finally got to see the “famous” Blackburn that was rescued from the yard at the Doncaster Aviation Museum SYAM.
It was famous because a tree grew up through the fuselage lifting it into the air.
