Great photo and great airline! Well done mate!
I like the new livery, but the tail looks a bit too like the union flag BA tail to me.
Wannabe, you’ll be flying from T1, a great terminal both landside and airside in my opinion. Photo opportunities are limited, you can get some photos if you go to the Europier in T1, this is made of glass and gives good views of the airfield. Furthermore if you follow the signs to T2 when you are airside, you can go to T2 departures as well and get some close up photos at the window next to Dixons. I only discovered the fact that you can pass freely between T1 and T2 airside recently, but it makes the shopping a lot better whe flying from T2!
Congratulations Hand, and thanks for all your brilliant conversation so far!
I don’t mind T1 check in at all, although I totally agree T2 check in is very dull and dismal, T3 is also pretty depressing. I’m a big fan of Manchester Airport so I’d agree with the survey there. Haven’t used Newcastle yet, I’ll be going there for the first time on the 27th of the month so I’ll report back then 🙂
10 out of 25! Now why do I know some of that useless information and not anything I actually need to know for my ATPL!
Deano, if that’s the case then I apologise, takes for clearing it up mate, I don’t want to look like a total mad man, I’m just very concerned that the likes of Skylinerworld will stop posting because they feel people are getting at them. I know that when I was twelve I didn’t quite understand the fact that people aren’t being harsh when they have a laugh at your expense.
Jeanske_SN, while I think it is very admirable that you are not English and you can write it near perfectly I think your comment at the bottom of your last post was uncalled for and you should really be encouraging the younger members of this forum to write their opinions, otherwise how will they get better at spelling? Skylinerworld is only 12 as he has told us on numerous occassions so back off a bit.
This is not the first time you have posted useless and unconstructive comments like this and frankly I don’t think that kind of comment belongs here, and if you do, then I think you too are in the wrong place.
Play nice kids!
Congrats mate! A well deserved move, and what a great aircraft as well! Look out for captain Phil Weignwright (I think that’s how you spell it) he’s a mate who flies the A340s at VS, nice chap!
If Thomas Cook ask for anyone you can think of to fill in your seat at TCX you know who to call 🙂
Where are you going to be training Deano?
I don’t care who I sit in the right seat for just as long as I have a job when I finish training next year!!
A BA 747-200 had all four engines cut out after flying through a volcanic cloud. After gliding for about 60 miles the crew were able to get a few of the engines running again. The aircraft is now flying with EAL.
An Aer Lingus 747-200 is flying from Dublin to New York when suddenly the pilot comes over the intercom ‘Ladies and gentlement, we’ve lost one engine, it’s not a major problem but it will take an extra hour to get to JFK’. A few minutes later ‘Ladies and gentlemen, you’re captain again, we’ve just lost a second engine, not too much to worry about but it will take about 3 hours to get to JFK’. Suddenly the pilot comes over the intercom again sounding very worried ‘Ladies and gentlemen we’ve lost the third engine, things are getting a bit hairy, it will take us five hours to get to New York now’. An Irish passenger in row 23 turns to the passenger next to him ‘Bloody hell if we loose another we’ll be up here for years’!!
We haven’t taken over the Sabena school in Arizona, we’ve signed a training partnership with them that means all full time ATPL students like myself do our fair weather training out in Phoenix in Oxford Aviation Training aircraft whilst being taught by Oxford Aviation Instructors using Sabena’s facilities and callsign. We also stay in the amazing Sabena flats which are truely gorgeous!
I go out there on August the 16th for four months and I can’t wait!
Could this be an opportunity for Virgin Express to return to the British market? I seem to recall them saying that if Ryanair left any of the Charleroi routes they would commit to taking them over.
