Comet, you are completely right. The worst flight I’ve ever had was also by a male captain. These two experiences just weren’t great, however in retrospect I was wrong to suddenly pounce on the subject in the manner that I did.
Men and Women both have places in the cockpit and that’s the way it should be.
Has anyone flown with Hapag Llyod Express or Germanwings?
Here are mine:
Favourites:
1) Excalibur
2) BMI New Livery
3) BA Union Flag
4) Germanwings
5) Flybe
Dislikes:
1) Air Scandic
2) Air France..boring!!!
3) PIA
4) EAL (old)
5) BWIA (old)
Dartie, BA didn’t actually cancel their orders, they just swapped them for some A319s and A321s. the 321s are off to GB Airways while the A319s are going to the mainline airline.
I suppose you’re right Michael, that would make a lot more sense.
Yeah I was thinking that it might take on the 767, possibly replacing the A310 or A300 as a shorter wide body.
Thanks guys, I know this will seem pretty odd but during my psychometric testing for my career one of my better points proved to be flexibility to those around me.
My referee actually said that my most redeeming skill was the ability to get on with almost anyone and talk to them on whatever level was needed. (sorry to blow my own trumpet!)
As a youth worker of three years I’ve had to relate to all kinds of different people from all walks of life and I really think that this has helped me to adapt my personality so that I can hold a conversation with most people, but more importantly respect their choices in life….hopefully (and so far it is going well!) I can take this attitude with me to the cockpit to become a true ‘copilot chameleon’ 🙂
Thanks for the support guys, and sorry once again.
I like the Lufthansa livery, however I really thing Air France could do with a make over, that livery is so old now and really is showing its age.
Thanks Kevin I appreciate it, I’m sorry if I came accross as inconsiderate or thoughtless or sexist, this really wasn’t my intention. Exam stress has kind of got to me and I’ve reacted a lot worse than I usually would.
Thanks once again mate, sorry if I offended you and take care 🙂
Mongu, you’ve put exactly what I’ve been trying to say perfectly. I think whether you’re male or female it doesn’t matter, as I said all I care about is that the individual is up to the job, I’ve just had a couple of bad experiences.
Just because two bad landings I’ve had were by women I’ve been branded sexist, had I posted that post about male pilots no one would have cared, this was jsut the correct line of converasation to bring it up in.
There is too much of a division between males and females in aviation. Once again sorry if anyone took it the wrong way.
Brilliant picture thanks for that. We also have foxes in our back garden we feed them every evening. I imagine that the wildlife around Heathrow must have got used to the noise by now.
Kevin,
Have you not read my posts? I have flown with 19 female pilots, I have a huge amount of respect for them. I am not judging them at all.
Now the whole issue about this nosewheel coming down hard, you cannot even try and tell me that it is perfectly normal for oxygen masks to come down because the nosewheel hits the ground..I’ve flown as a passenger on many BAe 146s and Dash 8s and never has that happened again.
A horror story…I think so, you have judged me on a badly put first post, I looked back and it is pretty scathing, but like I said that is not how it was meant to be, it was meant to be a light hearted post, it just went wrong and got taken the wrong way.
I have not made rash flipping judgements, I had two bad experiences, read my post I’ve flown with 19 female pilots as a co-pilot and they have all been great. GIVE ME A BREAK, I MADE ONE BAD POST AND I GET THIS CRAP, it’s pathetic, how many times do I have to say, Imeant it in a light hearted manner, any of the young women at OAT that I speak to on a daily basis would have understood this, it’s banter, this is political correctness taken too far..it’s a joke, I’ve apologised twice, now why can you just accept I made a mistake and forget about it.
Moondance, I completely agree. Once again sorry if I offended anyone. 🙂
Whiskey Delta, I’m starting to feel that your comments are getting personal, I was not listeaning in to the conversation, I was an active part of this conversation with the pilots.
I’ve also flown many T-Tail aircraft in my time and this nosewheel was slammed down at a much greater force than is usual.
I don’t think it is your place to start judging me or situations that I have been in when you do not know me or have not been present.
Whiskey Delta, you said yourself that you sometimes give your girlfriend and friend a hard time saying “I give them a hard time all the time about being pilots and captains. “Chicks don’t fly unless they’re pushing a galley cart.”
Now this is the light hearted manner that I meant the post to read as. So don’t go judging.
