Gripen needs a more powerful motor like F110 or EJ200.
One day it will resemble the F-16 Block 60
Looking the NATF it just looks like a F-22A with non-stealthy looking F-14 type swing wings.
Also some sources of the net mention it being a 2 seater although its hard to see from this picture.
I wish there were more images of the NATF F-22.
BTW wasn’t there a AIM-54 succecor for the NATF called AIM-152 AAAM/AICMD
Any updates of the Ecudorian Kfir CE/C10/2000 ?
Looking at the CE i wonder if the nose was too heavy thus making the plane less of a joy to fly compared with C2/7.
Didn’t the US call the F-21A the Kafir ?
I always pronounce it(Kfir) as Ke-fir…maybe Erez can enlighten us on this 😉
Though the Nesher/Dagger/Finger are powered by licensed built Atars the Israelis have a license for this engine.
I think some F-1(or T-2 if you will) had the air superiority grey just like the F-15Js but those were assigned to the TRDI.
Maybe the F-1 had wraparound camo because they would never venture over water, engaging the landing craft as they ride the surf from inland.
I have read all the stories about how some Swiss enginneer working for Dassault has hotten the blueprints for the Israelis. Similarly their allies at Snecma got the engine plans.
OR and just MAYBE
The embargo of the Mirage 5 was just red herring. Maybe the IAF did get their Mirage 5 from Dassault after all.
Interesting thread so far. Can i ask a few questions ?
1. Did the post-reunification Luftwaffe operate their inherited Floggers in the fighter role ? I have yet to see a single picture of Luftwaffe marked MiG-23.
2. I read on some web sources that Flogger-D had the GSH-23L(?) gun just like the 23BN and only later versions featured the Gatling gun(?)
3. Wouldn’t it been better for the MiG-23MF/ML/MLD to us the gatling gun instead of the twin barrel 23mm. I also *heard* it could elevate(point downwards) but i am not so sure.
Thanks for any replies.
Were any Ruslans ever painted in camoflauge ?
Here JASDF Phantom
btw Erez i didn’t know IDF refer to their equipment as male 🙂
Thanks Erez… i love those images
Did they actually offered a frameless windshield later on ?
The promotional painting of #42 shows the standard kfir windshield.
Hey even the RAF Harrier GR5/7 and probably 9 have fake gunpods. Why can’t they just use the guns from the GR3 ? Budget, design problem
I found a Nammer photo albeit a poor one.
From this photo
It seems the Nammer resembles the Cheetah E has a dog toothed combat wing, some engine other than Atar 9K(PW1120 ?) and lack the extra air intake near the tail fin like the Kfir series.
Speaking of Mirages i wonder how the so called IAI Nammer would have looked like…said to have GE F404 engines ? Knowing IAI style it probably would have resemble Kfir but with a smaller fuselage(?)…anyone ?
How bout Mirage derivatives
This is the Mirage IIING. An expensive upgrade that could have been a great final french Mirage3.
That is the Sikorsky S-67 Blackhawk. Nice chopper. A follow-up to the Cheyyene.
