Erm..guys…. CA forum…. shouldn’t this be in GD

I would have thought there was a huge amount of commercial aviation involved in any such final

Don’t forget that Celtic attracted an unprecedented 80,000 fans to Seville and therefore rarther a lot of air charters too.

Celtic’s run to the final must have created a HUGE amount of revenue for travel agents, airports and airline companies.

Similarly the Tartan Army must be a popular visitor for our departure lounges – the recent visit to Italy being a perfect example.

Can anybody explain why the Scots show such an eagerness to travel to such football events? It cannot be cheap fares as the prices rocket as soon as a fixture is announced. It cannot be any promise of team success that is for sure 🙂

I was just curious to see if there was some other reason for your sig as I couldn’t see how it was possible that was all.

Getting very sad in me old age 🙁

(You will of course amend it in the spirit of accuracy 😉 )

    How so.

Glasgow is 30 miles to the west of me and Edinburgh 7 miles south.

    X and Y axis 😉

Not physically possible if you are in Fife old man 🙂

The nearest point in Fife to GLA is over 30 miles (Kincardine on Forth) if you were in Kincardine on Forth you are well over 7 miles from EDI – not physically possible – check it and see. Anyway lets not bore everyone else with this – I suggest further discussion via PM?

I’m in Fife…. just north of Edinburgh and east of Glasgow 😉

I thought that but still not possible to be in both co-ordinates at the same time?

Well, as I sat incarcerated in the land of shame I suddenly found I had some extra time on my hands.

Great to see you back Alexander and very impressive work.

I’m puzzled by your sig. though.

Is this supposed to be a real position you quote or I am I missing something in my old age? It surely cannot be possible to be located 30 miles east of GLA and at the same time be 7 miles north of EDI?

NO KIDDING! I’m so there. 😎

And with a bit of luck so will be Glasgow Celtic 😉

That most certainly would give the Greek economy a massive boost 🙂

With todays announcement that Glasgow will host 2007s UEFA cup final i am hoping that we will see a repeat of the mass traffic that we had when the Champions league final was in Glasgow and when Celtic were in the UEFA cup final in Seville. 😀

It all depends who is in the final as the UEFA Cup is regarded as a 2nd rate competition by many clubs.

However if the amazing traffic levels reached in 2002 for the CL final then EDI, GLA and PIK can all expect to be stretched.

Where’s the Champs League final in ’06?

Stade de France 2006 and Olympic Stadium Athens 2007

You weren’t aware of the RDF that BAA have? Well you know now.

Oh I was well aware of it – but some would try to convince that it is only available at venues that aren’t EDI.
