I find it funny that the Scottish members have a war over how a new carrier should come to either GLA or EDI. And now the beloved GSM announces PRG and are beginning to batter CSA off the route. Think of the consequenses. CSA will pull out. I doubt at this stage Scotland is their most profitable market.
I would suspect Scotland is one of their most profitable markets hence the scramble elsewhere. Scots are now realising the rest of Europe is on their doorstep for weekend trips and that Dublin and such destinations are overpriced and over-populated at weekends.

As I’ve said already, it’ll probably receive funding from BAA.
BAA offering incentives at EDI that might not be available elsewhere? Surely you jest 🙂

According to their webpage http://www.flyglobespan.com
it looks like a summer fare war is about to erupt on EDI-PRG
Will GSM repeat the challenge over the winter months.?
Will CSA respond to the challenge?
Some a predicted a disaster when the same scenario happened at GLA – I wonder how they will greet this news.

Globespan want to go to SFB and a Cuban resort destination too.
I hope they fare better than Thomas Cook then –

Well, the perimeter anyway…..
Nice to see some actual EDI airport pics instead of the usual spotter stuff.
I must say I am impressed with the new `attachment` arrangement. Much more sensible and if you are further interested you simply click on the thumbnail to get the enlarged version. So much more sensible than clicking on a thread to discover you have to download MB’s of pictures you might not want to see.

It’s good news for folk who don’t want to mess around with flying / driving / getting the train down south.
Tonight Aberdeen also gained approval for 24 hour operation – which they say will add 4 flights per day during summer.
Good day for Scottish aviation – more business = more flights = more pilot positions. Ye ha.
DME
Another great day all round for Scottish aviation. 🙂
